    Emperor Palpatine; the most terrifying villain in the galaxy!

    Possibly the most evil character in the history of Star Wars™, Emperor Palpatine (also known by his Sith name, Darth Sidious) sends shockwaves of destruction across the galaxy.

    This evil mastermind has great powers. The dark side of the Force is so strong within him, he can destroy his enemies by shooting deadly Force lightning from his fingertips.
    While the character is mentioned in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and appears in hologram form in Episode V The Empire Strikes Back; it is in Episode VI Return of the Jedi that Star Wars fans really saw the power of the evil Emperor. In dramatic scenes, Palpatine attempts to turn Luke Skywalker to the dark side but underestimates the bond between Luke and Darth Vader.

    In the prequel trilogy, fans saw a younger Palpatine, playing the part of an outwardly respectable advisor to Queen Padmé Amidala. But secretly, Palpatine was the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, already plotting his destructive rise to power.

    One of the greatest antiheros of all time, Emperor Palpatine has captured the imaginations of Star Wars fans young and old, making him a great character within LEGO® Star Wars playsets.
