In the production of our DUPLO bricks, we only use raw materials where we’re in complete control of the chemical composition. We monitor the latest research and use published scientific data to ensure that our materials are safe. We also continuously test our materials to ensure that our toys don’t expose children to any harmful substances. Every element we produce meets a long list of safety and quality rules. Although elastic parts are quite rare in our sets, we do use some white, red, and blue silicone parts – and our vehicles have soft tires. These consist of SBS or SEBS, which are materials safely used in many consumer products.
In 2018, however, we were very proud to launch the first LEGO set made by plant-based plastic, and more will follow in the years to come!
We are committed to using plastic resources responsibly, so future generations can inherit a healthy planet. We are constantly in pursuit of more sustainable solutions to our raw materials consumption and our packaging. We also work towards improving our waste management and eliminating waste in our production:
