Hermione Jean Granger™ is a Muggle-born witch who became aware of her magical abilities at the age of 11, and was subsequently offered a place to study at the Hogwarts™ School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Hermione’s innate fear of failure leads her to excel academically at the school and, despite being a ‘little know-it-all’, she soon becomes good friends with Harry Potter™, the eponymous leading character in J. K. Rowling's series of Harry Potter books and movies.
She is an integral part of the series’ core group of characters – Hermione, Harry and Ron Weasley™, sometimes known as ‘the Trio’. Hermione is always happy to use her knowledge of magic to help her friends whenever they find themselves in a sticky situation.
