    Why are my LEGO® bricks different colors?

    We make our bricks with care and precision but sometimes you might notice slight variations in shade between pieces of the same color. This is because we produce our bricks in batches, much like wool or textiles. It’s possible that there are slight variations in color between batches.   Most LEGO® pieces are made of tiny pieces of plastic (about the same size as grains of rice) and some recycled pieces. During the recycling process, different shades may be combined to create new pieces. Doing this helps preserve valuable raw materials and be as eco-friendly as we can with the material we use.   There are some other factors that can cause bricks to change color over time. Exposure to direct sunlight, cigarette smoke or extreme temperature variations can all gradually affect the color of your builds.   If your set has pieces that are extremely discolored, please get in touch with us.
