Connecting your LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3 with the USB cable

To connect your LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3 with your USB cable, plug the Mini-USB end of the cable into the EV3 Intelligent Brick’s PC Port (located next to Port D). Plug the USB end into your computer. Turn the EV3 Brick on if it isn’t already.

You’ll see a ‘USB’ icon next to battery indicator on your EV3 Brick if it connected properly.

The button below ‘USB’ in the Hardware Page of the EV3 software will also be filled in.

If this doesn’t happen, there may be a problem with your USB cable. You can try another cable or contact us for additional help.
