About LEGO® Power Functions

Power Functions are the electric building components for LEGO® sets. They’re most often used in LEGO® Technic and Creator sets.

There are several groups of Power Functions:
 

• For any Power Functions to work, you’ll need a battery box. Without one, nothing will have the power needed to operate.

• Motors are the Power Functions group with the biggest selection. Depending on their function in the build, different motors will be used.

• Remote controls and receivers are used when you want to have Power Functions work from a distance.

• Extension wires and lights are also available should they be needed. You can use them to make connections span longer distances and add features like headlights to your creations.
