  I was a little hesitant with this because of the potential difficulty involved with the motors and the app (which we hadn’t had experience with on other LEGO builds), but I am so happy we got this for my son. He’s 7 and has a lot of LEGO experience and is a very fast builder, so I thought this would challenge him...and it did. The build time wasn’t too long. He worked on in for a couple hours and we figured out the whole app. In the end he really enjoyed it and loves playing with it. It’s almost like a remote control toy. Well done LEGO for taking it to the next level with the added technology.

  I've built legos for years. First off a hard copy of building instructions on droids would help. Second, being allowed ALL pieces to keep droids built would be amazing. I found myself building R2 and was missing pieces right off the bat, had pieces that didn't belong to any droids. Lego was great with replacement however, have found the entire build frustrating at best. I can't have all 3 built to display. Displaying was my hope now, unfortunately they sit in a box incomplete. I couldn't ever give them to my son (12) as he wants to play with all 3 not 1 at a time. Definitely regret purchase, but love the droids if only they could be complete.

As for having all three droids at once - we really appreciate the feedback. We do have hubs available for purchase separately, but keep in mind - each hub would need its own mobile device to connect to.

  This kit does not include the color sensor that was in the previous kit and cost more. Second, the app only allows you to build the 3 robots and do their missions. That's it. If you want to use the kit to make your own creation after that ( you know, the actual point of playing Lego), you have to download the other Boost app. Finally, Lego has drop support for the PC version and does not even offer the possibility to download it anymore, which mean our Lego summer camp and school won't be able to function since we were using PC for the children and we can't just go out and buy 20 iPads. Extremely disappointed.

  I was disappointed at first because you have to power up the hub with the app before you can build the droids. Also the app is frustrating with everything being colour coded without labels. The build instructions were really straightforward and I like the wat you can rotate the 3D image. The droids builds are a bit hit and miss though, R2-D2 is very detailed and well built but the mouse droid appears unfinished with the motor “hanging” out of the rear. The coding seems very extensive and gives a great deal of options and could be really powerful with the right amount of imagination, however, the droids themselves struggled to manoeuvre on my laminated timber floor. Overall, there is room for improvement but can see the fun value in it.
