When did the NINJAGO® series first come out?

LEGO® NINJAGO first launched in 2011, with LEGO sets and the debut of the NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu television show. New products have been released every year since.

Spinjitzu is a martial art that exists in the NINJAGO® world. It involves calling on your spiritual and physical balance while spinning, creating a tornado of elemental energy. Knowledge of this skill is what differentiates the ninja from others in the NINJAGO world. Mastering Spinjitzu is a key step in reaching one’s true potential. When you have achieved this, by overcoming any obstacles holding you back, you have access to the maximum amount of elemental power possible.

Who are the NINJAGO® heroes?

The NINJAGO main characters are a team of young ninja, including Kai, the Ninja of Fire; Zane, the Ninja of Ice; Jay, the Ninja of Lightning; Cole, the Ninja of Earth; Nya, the Ninja of Water; and Lloyd, the powerful Green Ninja.

Master Wu is the mentor to the ninja team. He teaches them about believing in themselves and being disciplined and strong.

Are NINJAGO® sets compatible with other LEGO® building sets?

They certainly are! NINJAGO sets use our standard bricks, so you’re free to create your own ninja Spinjitzu adventures with any other sets that you own.
