    The Wasp (Hope van Dyne) from LEGO® Marvel

    The Wasp

    Janet Van Dyne is the wife of Hank Pym – the scientist who used size-reduction technology on himself to create the Ant-Man legend. She made her first appearance as the Wasp in Marvel’s 1963 comic, Tales to Astonish. In a 1982 issue of Avengers comic, she became leader of the Avengers team of superheroes, and maintained the position until 1987.

    Janet van Dyne appears in a in a flashback sequence in the 2015 Movie, Ant-Man. The daughter of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, Hope Van Dyne, appeared in 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. Following the death of her mother, Hope takes on the mantle of the Wasp.

    Hope is able to shrink to the size of an insect using Pym Particles in the belt of her suit. She also possesses superhuman strength and can fly with impressive speed and agility. She wears gauntlets capable of emitting energy bolts and is able to command insects to do as she wishes. With such exciting abilities, it’s no wonder the character has become a popular action toy and LEGO® set figure.
