Local Community Engagement

With the help of our passionate LEGO® employees, we aim to leverage the transformational power of learning through play to inspire and develop children. Our local community engagement program currently operates in 31 countries, and we are working hard to expand it even further. The program relies on our employees in each country volunteering to help create projects to inspire children. These projects meet local needs, provide opportunities to local children, and leverage the skills and interests of local employees to have the greatest impact on the lives of children.

LEGO employee Erik Ullerlund Staehr had a great idea – to build a LEGO model of an MRI scanner that could help medical staff prepare children for treatment. This would reduce their anxiety and make their experience more playful and less scary. The MRI model is now being built by employees across the world to distribute to their local hospitals.Build to Give
The holiday season should be a time of joy and festive cheer, but for many children and families, it can be difficult. Through the LEGO Group, families and fans can join the Build to Give campaign by building and sharing holiday ornaments. For every ornament displayed in-store or shared online, we donate a LEGO set to a child in need of play.
