This set is just brilliant, I own many Lego sets, mainly Technic and Star Wars but also a few normal and I have to say this set comes a very highly recommended, is a bit of challenge to build in places but is very enjoyable, the set is huge, brilliant how you can change the 3 boat sections into a proper pirate ship, I have this in a proper display case at the top of the stairs and everyone comments on it! Takes a while to build so more time spent enjoying the build, the only thing I think would help but don’t it let it put you off, in the instructions it shows you how to change the island sections into the boat but not back again so I had to go back and forth, my memory isn’t that good as to where everything goes after a few weeks in ship form, but buy this set you won’t be disappointedPlay Experience5.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

After talking to a friend about my son getting into LEGO and that I always wanted the big pirate ship in the late 80’s as a kid but could never get it he told me about this set And that was it! I knew I had to do it and finally get my Barracuda!! I was not disappointed either. This set is simply amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this build! Oh it’s also huge!! I didn’t actually realise how big the finished set is which just adds to the awesomeness. The finished island is absolutely superb and full of so many details. My plan was to turn it into the ship straight away however I think I’ll leave it as is for a while as it looks so good as the shipwreck. My son absolutely loves looking for all the little details scattered all over the island and is having a good time playing with it along with the creator pirate ship and my original raft raiders set which really adds to the theme. I can’t wait to make it into the Barracuda Pirate Ship but for now I’ll sit back and enjoy the completed island.Play Experience5.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

I have seen it many times in a local shop but it never caught my eye because it looked like a hodge-podge of piraty lego chunks and somehow it didn't appeal to me. Boy was I wrong! I never quite realized a ship wreck can be easily constructed into a ship, so when I found that out (purely by chance, on internet) I went ahead and purchased it. I honestly think no picture can do it's justice. I do believe it's the best set LEGO has ever made, and the best ship by far. The amount of detail is unbelievable, the ship's interior is fully designed, you get everything you need: few cots for sailors, kitchen with a stove, a couple tables, a bar with a bar stand and a barrel of beer, and even a gorgeous captain room! The wreck variant is amazing as well, I looks so much better in real life than in the picture. It feels cozy and detailed and believable, you want to become a lego minifigure yourself and live in this universe for a day. On top of everything, it was a joy to build too! No repetitive parts, very well ordered. It's amazing to look at in its both variants, it's amazing to play with, if you still unsure: buy it, you won't regret. To put simply, everything about this set is amazing to me. The build is very well done and have so much room for minifigs and playability, and it's very well done how you can remove all the ship chunks and make a full pirate ship. The minifig selection is incredible as about half of theme are exclusive in some way, and they all look good. The value is extremely good. The build is larger than it seems on the box, and it has an incredibly high number of large pieces that it feels like it could've been much more expensive than it is. The only small issue is that I feel it could be a bit easier to remove the chunks of the ship and rebuilt it to a ship and vice versa. But other than that small thing, this set is incredible, and I recommend it if you can get it over anything available right nowPlay Experience4.0
