- in about 15 hoursAverage rating5out of 5 stars5.0A small sample of Ninjago's amazing Summer wave!Brade | 14-18I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfThis set is easy to overlook, but it packs quite a punch. The figures are the standout, with the build seeming additional. First, the armor of the ice samurai is absolutely stunning in person. It has icicles spread sporadically across the armor, forming the intricate crown of the helmet. The ice printing on the torso and legs, however, looks quite fake. That said, I love how the torso printing allows for a white hue to shine through the transparent icicle armor. Finally, the choice to use that aqua hue for the flesh makes for a very zombie-like look, and complement the other hues of blue very well. I particularly love the head. The scars have a subtle but appreciated metallic blue print. Lloyd comes in this set with stunning leather garb. The garb is done in a tasteful dark brown, with some metallic gold printing for the buckles. He has a shoulder sash, which has a nice "L" symbol in the Ninjago language, also done in that gold. His robes have earth green as the accent, a color which complements the bright green base very well. He also comes with a new shoulder pad attachment, which has a nice shuriken-like symbol on it. Finally, we have Akita. This form of Akita is exclusive to this set. Inspired by the Kitsune, Akita has three tails, with dual-molded red tips. This accent of red is also seen on the whiskers of the face. I greatly appreciate LEGO including such a piece in an affordable set. As for the build, it's quaint but detailed. The two side builds include a 2x2 for Lloyd's sword, and a lantern for Lloyd to hold. The hilt uses a lightsaber flipped vertically, with the lantern attached on top. The base itself is a rock formation that is wooded at the bottom and shielded at the top. The base is covered with several icy details, with the use of barb parts as icicles, and some rock and tooth plates for snow. In the center is a crossbow that can shoot studs, the only point of functionality in the set. I appreciate the intricacy for its size, but it isn't anything too special. Overall, $15 seems steep for such a build. However, consider what's included. This set provides one with several of Summer 2019's new elements, including the intricate ice armor and helmet, in addition to the new Ninja shoulder pad. Also included is Akita. Animal elements are more expensive for LEGO to produce than normal Minifigures. Therefore, I would recommend this set for anyone interested in Minifigures and elements. If you are looking for a set fun to play with, I would recommend one of the Spinjitzu Slam sets or Cole's Dirt Bike. Retailing in the same price range, they offer much more potential playtime in regards to functionality.Play ExperienceAverage rating2out of 5 stars2.0Level of DifficultyAverage rating1out of 5 stars1.0Value for MoneyAverage rating4out of 5 stars4.0Build Time: 15 minsWas this helpful?55Lloyd's Journey

- in 24 daysAverage rating4out of 5 stars4.0It's Good, But...PoliticalTrekkie | 14-18I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfThe minifigures alone are worth the price, but I wish that they had included one of two things on the fort. 1) A little more on the build to make the Samurai face an angle or add something on the hidden level 2) a pin section so that I could buy one or two more to make a bigger overall fort. The Wolf figure is fantastic, and I am surprised with LEGO's decision to include a full ice armor. That can't be cheap. It's a little flawed, but is still a lot of fun.Play ExperienceAverage rating3out of 5 stars3.0Level of DifficultyAverage rating2out of 5 stars2.0Value for MoneyAverage rating4out of 5 stars4.0Building Experience: Expert LEGO builderWas this helpful?45Lloyd's Journey
