Death star is my ultimate dream (one of many LOL ). It cost me $800 AUD which isn't cheap, but acceptable for a such magnificent build. The process is fun, not so much challenging once you understand the basic structure but a lot details to play with. I saw many revise compare it to the old one and old version does much cheaper but it’s hard to find (a well packed new one) for a new collector, so I'm glade lego made us a new one with nice minifridges up to todays' standard. (And everything is more expensive compare to few years ago anyway) It's a great product. Proudly owned.Play Experience5.0Level of Difficulty4.0Value for Money3.0Build Time: 10 hrsBuilding Experience: Intermediate LEGO builderWas this helpful?55Death Star™
- November 12th, 2016Average rating1out of 5 stars1.0Not impressed!Purchased for: SelfFirst I have to say I and everyone in my family LOVES Lego!! And this is the only item I have ever given such a poor review of. I also own the last Death Star and I have to say this new one is nothing more than the original one with different figures and a few MINOR improvements. That being said it costs $100 more! If you have the prior Death Star I would skip this one. The changes to this one are not even note worthy in my opinion. If you do not have a Death Star I would consider this one but I feel it is way over priced. So we still love Lego but I wish I could go back in time and skip this set. - August 20th, 2018Average rating5out of 5 stars5.0That's no moon.....I would recommend this to a friend!Firstly, this set was what I always wanted and now I have it! The capes are made of silk and the figures are heavily detailed. Love grand moff Tarkin aswell. The turbo lift was sleek and the trash compactor was my favourite part of the set because you get a dianoga in it! I still prefer the 10188 Death Star and figures just because it is a classic set! Have fun building!Play Experience5.0Level of Difficulty4.0Value for Money4.0Build Time: 3 days 10 hrsWas this helpful?55Death Star™
- October 11th, 2016Average rating1out of 5 stars1.0Another LEGO Star Wars price gouge; future Omen?Like many, my gripe here is not the product itself but the unjustified price point. I don't know whether Disney is now demanding a higher % of profit on their branded items (particularly star wars?) or whether LEGO has made a conscious decision to target Star Wars fan wallets, but a curiously similar absurd price tag was attached to the recent Hoth set. Both, while great agnostic of price, are clear money grabs for whatever reason. The only choice one has in these circumstances is to boycott the ridiculous priced items in favor of those with more value per buck (i.e. smaller sets)Level of Difficulty4.0Value for Money1.0Was this helpful?15Death Star™
