Power Trio: LEGO® Pokémon™ Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise

The Ultimate Power Trio: LEGO® Pokémon™ Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise

The first Pokémon™ video games, released in Japan way back in 1996, began with players setting out from Pallet Town to become a Pokémon Trainer. The journey began by visiting Professor Oak, who gave players a choice between three first partner Pokémon.

These were: Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle.

It was never an easy choice, especially because players knew that with enough care and training, these first partner Pokémon would evolve into Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise, three of the most formidable Pokémon.

Now, the final forms of these first partner Pokémon are available in one truly exceptional LEGO® set.

The good news is that you no longer have to make a hard choice, with this set you can have all three Pokémon at once.

“The overall goal of this LEGO set was to be a display piece,” says Siddarth Muthyala, Design and Product Lead at the LEGO Group, who was part of the team that created this set.

“We landed on having the arms and legs of the Pokémon being able to move and pose in exciting ways. We also decided that each of the Pokémon should be able to easily be removed from the base and be able to stand and be displayed on their own.”

So, just like Trainers at the start of their journeys, let’s meet each of the three icons included in the LEGO® Pokémon™ Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise set.

This grass-and-poison-type Pokémon model has movable vines and feet and sits steadfast in a jungle biome decked with plants and flowers that will make you feel like you’re deep in the forest.

The fire-breathing Pokémon is captured perfectly in this set that features Charizard’s wings, legs, arms and head that can be posed in positions of your choice. It stands impervious in a hot-looking volcano biome, which perfectly sums ups this unique and fiery Pokémon.

This brick-built Blastoise captures all of those distinct details and features an articulated head, arms and, of course, its powerful water jets. It stands in a unique beach biome.

LEGO® Pokémon™ Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise

These are three truly iconic Pokémon and they look fantastic in brick-built form. At 6,838 pieces in total, 19.7 (50 cm) high, 14.2 (36 cm) long and 21.3 (54 cm) wide, this will prove to be a build that is challenging and rewarding. It will take time and energy. But, as anyone who has spent time leveling up Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle knows, when you finally get to Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise, it was worth the wait.
