A Very SMART Tatooine Rescue Mission!

Brave troops. Thank goodness you’re here. We need to descend into Tatooine for a daring rescue mission. And you are our only hope.

Step 1: Choose your rescuees

Okay, troops. First up... We don’t know who we are rescuing. That’s... err... that’s gonna have to be your job.

Ask your kid to dig out some random Star Wars™ minifigures. Then, encourage them to build a sticky situation they need to be rescued from!

Maybe... a Womp rat-filled tank? On top of a slide in a Jawa-infested playground? Or a Lightsaber™ maze? Let their wacky imaginations decide!

Step 2: Map out your path

Figure out a path around your home for the rescue mission. Try to spread it out over as much distance as possible. 

Now it’s time to add the SMART Play™ features! For example...

Prepare for launch: Begin in one room and utilize the green hammer from the SMART Play™: Luke's Landspeeder™ set. When placed next to a vehicle with a SMART Brick inside, you’ll hear the sounds of repairing as the rescuers prepare for their adventure.
Action: Halfway to the mission, have an obstacle for them to overcome. Perhaps a turret from the SMART Play™: Luke's Red Five X-Wing™ set? Or a sketchy encounter at the SMART Play™: Mos Eisley Cantina™?
Fuel up: Shortly afterwards, place the blue nozzle from the Landspeeder set nearby, so your rescuers can refuel before their mission reaches its climax.

Top Tip: Remember, you’re on Tatooine! Make use of all things beige and yellow to replicate the sandy surface of the planet!

Step 3: Surprise!

This is where you come in. Your kids might have thought they were carrying out a solo rescue mission. What they didn’t count on was you being in control of an Imperial starship!

With a set like the SMART Play™: Darth Vader's TIE Fighter™ All-in-One set in your hand, carry out an ambush for an extra bit of jeopardy!

Top Tip: Your kid will be extra surprised if you are playing with two or more SMART Bricks. That means you can engage in Battle Play, a two (or more) player function where you can battle one another and see who can score the most “hits” against another player!

Step 4: The Rescue

After your kid miraculously overcomes your attempted ambush, it’s up to them to be the heroes they were born to be and to complete their daring rescue!

But who’s to stop your evil forces from returning on their journey home... (Cue evil laughter)
