Given the slightly hefty price tag and sheer size of this beast it is definitely more for the full on collector. However that being said this is an amazing addition to any collection, because of its larger size the level of detail is incredible, it was great fun to build and actually found myself taking a lot more time than i normally would to stretch out the build time. obviously the play-ability of this set is very low, its big bulky and heavy but again...more of a display piece. Excellent kit all round and would recommend any collector to go out and buy thisPlay Experience2.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

The Boba Fett Slave 1 I have recently purchased is now my Fourth addition to my ultimate collectors Series. The Slave 1 in my opinion from the impression of the cinematic box to the incredible accuracy of representation in detail and color combined with role playing functionality have ultimately persuaded me to consider this set as astounding to be proud and marvel at every time i look at it similarly to the feeling of gazing at my Super Star Destroyer. I Sincerely guarantee the greatest Satisfaction will be had during the completion of this amazing ship and its enduring sentiment in the world of Star WarsPlay Experience5.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

I had my eyes and wallet glued to this set since it was revealed a year ago. I finally picked it up about 3 weeks ago from my local Lego Store, and I have to say I was impressed just looking at the box. This is my first official Ultimate Collector Series set, unless the 2007 Walking AT-AT counts. First off, the completed model is absolutely MASSIVE, so if you plan on buying this piece of art, you need the space. Now, the build itself. it took me about 4 hours to finish the build, and I found the build incredibly satisfying and moderately difficult. Next the fact that the Slave I is to scale means it is also technically also a play set, but in practicality, it's a collectors item. Now a list of Pros and Cons. Pros: THE DETAIL is incredible, right down to Boba Fett himself, the set has IMMENSE detail. The minifigures are almost all exclusive to this set. The Boba Fett has printed arms and legs, as well as a new face, the Bespin Guard is much more detailed than the last one that was released, the Han Solo with Cabonite form is also very detailed finally the Stormtrooper is very nicely detailed. The Slave I features many of it's hidden weapons that are never seen in film, which is one of my favorite parts of the set. The underside is highly detailed, which is rare among Lego sets. The modular/bag build streamlined and helped improve build time, and makes it easier to fix possible mistakes. The instruction booklet is as sturdy as the set itself is, incredibly so. Also the size and almost 10 cents per piece are just added bonuses. Cons: Lacks the passenger seats the Slave I does, as well as the Proton Torpedo launchers. Also the size is also a negative as it takes up a lot of space on display. Overall, this set is easily worth getting before it's gone. I highly recommend that anyone thinking about buying this set, DO IT. There are next to no cons, looks real fine on display. The pictures on this site don't do this beauty justice, so I decided to upload some of my own, which has comparisons between it and the last version of the Slave I released. I apologize for the quality as my PC is dead, I don't have a card reader, and I took these pictures with my iPod.Play Experience4.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

This set was a joy to build. I have to admit that my reasons for purchasing were about 65% because there was Han Solo in carbonite, 20% for Boba Fett, and 15% for Slave 1. The instructions and the building experience were great. It was nice that the instructions were all part of one book and not multiple books. I have read of many people complaining about the stand that holds up the ship, but I found that mine works well and my ship does not fall off once it is properly set up. Everything stays together well except for a couple pieces that connect the underside of the wings to the ship (they are the pieces that have 2 vent pieces connecting them together. These continually fall off. Hope this helps, I would definitely buy this if you were considering it while it last.Play Experience4.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?
