Meet the LEGO® Harry Potter™ characters

It’s an exciting time when kids are old enough to step into the world of Harry Potter™. If it’s been a while since you last watched the films, or you’re a complete novice (aka Muggle*), this guide to the LEGO® Harry Potter characters will have you covered. Discover who’s who in the Wizarding World™ so you can choose the best LEGO Harry Potter sets…

*A Muggle is someone who doesn’t possess any magical ability.

    Harry Potter™

Harry Potter thought he was an ordinary boy until his 11th birthday, when he received an acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry™. It turns out he’s been a wizard all his life.

At Hogwarts™, Harry is sorted by the Sorting Hat into Gryffindor™ House with Ron and Hermione – making them the ‘Golden Trio’ with a friendship like no other.

Together, they navigate life at the magical school while facing the growing threat posed by Lord Voldemort™.

Harry Potter is a courageous wizard and excels on the Quidditch™ pitch! For those new to the world of Hogwarts, Quidditch is a wizarding sport where players ride broomsticks, competing to score points by throwing a ball through hoops and, most importantly, by catching the infamous golden-winged ball: the Golden Snitch™!

You’ll get a LEGO Harry Potter minifigure in each of the sets shown below:

    Hermione Granger™

Hermione is the smartest witch in her year. While her friendship with Harry and Ron wasn’t instant, they soon became the best of friends. Hermione’s quick thinking and brave nature have helped them escape from many perilous situations.

Born to non-magical parents, Hermione often finds it tough to fit in at Hogwarts. But that never stops her from aiming high and being a loyal, supportive friend. You’ll usually spot her in the library, buried in her books or earning House points for Gryffindor!

    Ron Weasley™

With messy ginger hair and hilarious one-liners, Ron is the sixth of his siblings to attend Hogwarts. He first properly introduces himself to Harry on the Hogwarts Express™, and they’ve been best friends ever since. While Ron can be prone to trouble, he’s a loyal and brave friend who plays an important role in the quest to defeat Voldemort. The Weasleys end up becoming like family to Harry, treating him like another son. When Ron’s not avoiding homework in the Gryffindor common room, he’s tucking into a delicious feast in the Great Hall. Oh, and he’s also afraid of spiders!

    Albus Dumbledore™

Albus Dumbledore™ is the esteemed headmaster of Hogwarts. He’s also one of the most powerful wizards of all time, famous for defeating dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald in 1945. Besides being wise, he’s a kind and witty man who loves a knitted pair of socks.

Throughout Harry’s time at school, Dumbledore becomes his mentor and friend, protecting Harry and his friends during Voldemort’s rise to power. He’s one of the only wizards Voldemort truly fears. You’ll usually find him in his office or out on official business.

    Lord Voldemort™

Before he became Lord Voldemort, Tom Marvolo Riddle was a student at Hogwarts (long before Harry attended). Tom was obsessed with achieving great power and cast aside his former identity to become the dark and dangerous Lord Voldemort. Out of fear, people in the Wizarding World do not speak his name. Instead, he’s referred to as He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named or You-Know-Who. Voldemort has an army of dark followers called Death Eaters who serve him in his quest to spread evil. His main target is Harry Potter.

    Draco Malfoy™

Draco Malfoy™ is one of Harry’s biggest nemeses at Hogwarts. Born to a wealthy and prestigious family, Malfoy is a wizard who thinks he is more talented than those around him. Throughout his school years, Draco despises Harry, and when he’s not trying to meddle with the Golden Trio (Harry, Ron and Hermione), he’s likely to be found with his two Slytherin™ sidekicks, Crabbe and Goyle. Over time, Draco struggles to meet the demands of the dark side he was forced into.

    Severus Snape™

Severus Snape™ is the Potions Master at Hogwarts (though everyone knows he’d prefer to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts). Snape’s intimidating approach in class scares some students, yet he seems to take pleasure in giving young witches and wizards a hard time. He’s usually found teaching in the Potions Classroom or patrolling the castle at night.

    Rubeus Hagrid™

Hagrid™ is the lovable Gamekeeper at Hogwarts. He’s a friendly half-giant, who is always looking out for Harry and his friends. Loyal to Professor Dumbledore, Hagrid personally delivered Harry’s acceptance letter at the headmaster’s request. He loves caring for magical creatures and later becomes the Care of Magical Creatures Professor in Harry’s third year. Hagrid is not the best at keeping secrets…
