Curiosity can take you far. Meet Shivangi. ✨

When Shivangi first joined the LEGO® retail team, she didn’t imagine it would become a defining chapter of her career. What started with curiosity quickly grew into a passion for people, play and leadership — and today, she’s proud to help lead one of the most iconic LEGO Brand Retail stores in the world.

Originally from India, Shivangi moved to London four years ago to complete her master’s degree.

Like many people, her connection to the LEGO brand didn’t begin in childhood — it began with curiosity.
“As I learned more about the LEGO brand, its values and the impact it has on people around the world, I knew I really wanted to be part of this family,” she shares.
She joined the LEGO Group around two and a half years ago as a Sales Associate, where she discovered something that would shape her entire journey: a love for creating memorable experiences for every guest who walks through the door.

From Sales Associate to Supervisor, and now Assistant Store Manager, Shivangi’s career has grown step by step — supported by learning, trust and opportunity at every stage.
“Honestly, this is exactly how I wanted my journey to be. I wouldn’t change a thing,” she says. “Each role helped me grow, not just professionally, but personally too.”

Working on the shop floor gave her the chance to connect with guests from all over the world.

Moving into leadership allowed her to do something even more meaningful: empower her team to deliver those same joyful experiences.
“I love helping my team grow in confidence and seeing them succeed. Now, the experiences we create don’t just come from me they come through the whole team.”

Working in LEGO Brand Retail means making a direct impact on LEGO fans every single day and Shivangi feels that responsibility deeply.
“When people come into the store, you’re often the first face they see. They might not remember exactly what you said, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel.”
For her, the most rewarding part of the role is simple but powerful: making people smile — from the first greeting at the door to the moment they leave with a set (and a memory) in hand.

One particularly special moment stands out: the launch of LEGO® Smart Play at the Leicester Square flagship store.
“Seeing everyone’s reaction from a five‑year‑old child to an elderly guest the curiosity, the amazement on their faces… that reminded me why we do what we do.”

For Shivangi, the LEGO Group’s values aren’t just words, they show up in everyday actions.

Quality means delivering the same great experience whether it’s early in the morning or just before closing time.
Fun comes to life through play opportunities, demo tables and hands‑on discovery.
Imagination and creativity are woven into every detail, from playful props to storytelling spaces that invite guests to build, explore and dream.
And when it comes to 'Only the best is good enough', Shivangi sees it in the way the team supports one another.
“We invest so much in learning and training. Our team feels safe to ask questions, to grow, to keep getting better because we all care about delivering the very best for our guests.”

As the UK flagship store, LEGO Store Leicester Square welcomes guests and team members from all over the world.
“Our team is incredibly diverse, and that’s something we truly value,” Shivangi says. “We work with care, respect and openness, and that’s what makes this store so special.”

More broadly, what sets LEGO Brand Retail apart for her is the consistency of values across the entire organisation.
“No matter your role, whether you’re a Sales Associate, an Assistant Store Manager or working at headquarters, everyone lives the same values. That’s rare, and it’s something I really admire about the LEGO Group as a family‑owned company.”

Before joining, Shivangi expected “just another retail job.” What she found was something very different.

“From onboarding onwards, I could feel how warm and caring the culture is. The team, the guests, the shared experiences, none of it feels ordinary.”
She’s also discovered strengths she didn’t know she had, including leadership and coaching skills she genuinely enjoys using.
“And working in Leicester Square teaches you to stay calm under pressure that’s a skill you develop quickly!”

For anyone considering an Assistant Store Manager role at the LEGO Group, Shivangi’s advice is clear:
“Be open to learning. Be open to growth. There’s pressure, yes, but there’s also so much opportunity.”
The role is hands‑on and varied, from coaching on the shop floor to supporting operational tasks behind the scenes. But for those who bring passion and care, it’s deeply rewarding.

“Being part of the LEGO Group means being part of something bigger. We’re inspiring creativity, nurturing imagination and building meaningful connections one experience at a time.”
