7 Ways to Celebrate Star Wars™ Day in 2024

7 Ways to Celebrate Star Wars™ Day in 2024

Dust off your podracers and get your Lightsabers™ ready, folks, because it’s that time of year again! That’s right, we are getting ready to celebrate May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day. It’s a day for fans to show their love for one of the most famous series of all time, and introduce new fans to that galaxy far, far away.

This year is a very special Star Wars™ day, as 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of LEGO® Star Wars. To help you make the most of this occasion, we’ve rounded up some ideas for how you can celebrate, LEGO® brick style!

1: Build a LEGO® Star Wars™ Set

And what better way to celebrate May the 4th than with a LEGO® build of one of your favorite models from the Star Wars™ galaxy?

Pay tribute to Star Wars: The Phantom Menace™ with the new LEGO® Star Wars™ BrickHeadz™ The Phantom Menace™ (40676) collection, featuring figures of memorable characters young Anakin Skywalker, Queen Amidala, Qui-Gon Jinn, Jar Jar Binks, Darth Maul, and Captain Panaka. Or relive the podracing excitement from the film with the LEGO® Star Wars™ Mos Espa Podrace™ Diorama (75380) set. This dynamic model shows Anakin Skywalker speeding through Arch Canyon in pursuit of his racing rival Sebulba.

If you really want to channel your focus, then the LEGO® Star Wars™ TIE Interceptor™ (75382) may be the set for you. The newest addition to the Ultimate Collector Series, this model is a redesign of the one launched with the first wave of UCS sets in 2000. Back and better than ever, you can immerse yourself in this intricate build including distinctive wings, cockpit interior, laser cannons and rear engine.

2: Host a Star Wars™ Watch Party

This one may seem obvious, but one of the best ways to celebrate May the 4th is by watching a Star Wars™ movie or series. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace™, so that would be a great place to start. Or if shows are more your speed, check out one of the many shows from the Star Wars galaxy, like Ahsoka™, The Mandalorian™, or Star Wars: The Clone Wars™.

While you may not be up for a full 9-movie marathon of the prequel, original, and sequel trilogies (if that’s your plan, May the Force be with you), one thing is certain: watch parties are way more fun with friends! Invite your pals over for a fun time, and make sure you have plenty of snacks. You can also use the LEGO Builder app’s Build Together function to build a LEGO® set together while you watch.

3: Pre-Order Your Copy of LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force of Creativity

To mark the 25th Anniversary of LEGO® Star Wars™, we’ve created a special-edition book for fans of the sets. The book, LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force of Creativity, offers an in-depth look at all the sets we’ve done since LEGO Star Wars launched in 2000. The book also includes a time capsule, which features design sketches of the sets and minifigures.

While the book will officially launch in July 2024, you can preorder your copy on LEGO.com starting in May.

4: Watch the LEGO® Star Wars™ 25-Second Film Festival

Watch fan-made LEGO® Star Wars™ 25 second film! Between 4th and 25th May 2024, you can watch accepted entries from The 25-Second Film Festival on LEGO.com and LEGO YouTube. Enjoy these short films made by fans recreating iconic moments from the saga or sharing new stories.

5: Play the Star Wars™ Update to LEGO® Fortnite

Gamers can join in on the action too! Keep your eyes peeled for new LEGO® Star Wars™ content coming to LEGO® Fortnite® on May 3rd.

6: Talk Like a Star Wars™ Character

What would Star Wars™ be without its beloved characters? From Sith Lords to Jedi, Wookiees to Ewoks, the inhabitants of the galaxy are nothing short of iconic. Celebrate May the 4th by trying to talk like some of your favorite characters. You can speak like Yoda or try out your best Chewbacca growl. Or ominously enter any room with deep Darth Vader breaths.

Too much for every day? You could always try throwing some of your favorite quotes into conversation. (Though maybe don’t call someone a “scruffy-looking nerf herder” – that’s not very nice!) Greet your friends with a “Hello there!” a la Obi-Wan Kenobi or give a friend some Yoda-like encouragement by reminding them “Do. Or do not. There is no try.” And of course, you can never go wrong with the classic “May the Force be with you.”

7: Visit Your Local LEGO® Store

We’re celebrating May the 4th across the globe in our LEGO® stores! Visitors to LEGO stores during the weekend of May 4 – 5th may have the chance build mini models of 3 LEGO® Star Wars™ characters. Check out our Store Locator to see if this is available in a store near you as well as any other events for this special occasion.

However you choose to celebrate, we wish you a very happy Star Wars™ Day! May the Force be with you.
