3 easy and fun puzzle games you never knew you could play with LEGO DUPLO bricks

3 easy puzzles games you can play with LEGO® DUPLO® bricks

There are so many different ways to play with LEGO® DUPLO® (there are 24 different ways of connecting just two of our larger bricks) so we know that a little inspiration can go a long way. Here we have compiled three of our favourite puzzle games that require minimal set-up, and provide maximum fun!

Besides a box of different LEGO DUPLO bricks and a base plate, all you will need are some paper cups, a pencil and some pieces of paper.

1. Fit The Shapes Puzzle

Draw round some LEGO DUPLO bricks to create a shape on a piece of paper – then encourage your little one fit the bricks inside it. This is great for those fine motor skills and their hand-eye coordination. You can be creative here – maybe spell out a letter, a number or their name – or try our designs above if you need a little inspiration.

2. Tic Tac Toe

The age-old game but with a new lease of life, when you add a handful of LEGO DUPLO bricks. Rather than using sheets of paper, you can replay this game easily on a base plate. With the aim being to make a line of three matching coloured bricks to win, how quickly can your child crack it?

3. Memory Pairs

A twist on the memory card game we all know, this is great fun and a good way of using up those leftover birthday party cups. You’ll need a handful of small matching items to play – LEGO DUPLO bricks or characters work perfectly, whilst being safe for tiny mouths. Arrange them in a grid and then cover them with the paper cups. Ask your child to select two cups and lift them to see if the items underneath match up – if they don’t then it’s the next player’s turn. If they do match, then that player gets another go. The winner is the person with the most successful matches. Good luck!
