Sharing the wonder #BehindTheBricks. Billund Family Days 2026. ✨

What does your workplace look like through the eyes of the people closest to you?

For one special weekend in Billund, Denmark, LEGO® colleagues invited their family members and friends behind the scenes for Family Days 2026.

Thousands of guests stepped inside LEGO workplaces across Billund, discovering where we work, design, create and bring LEGO play experiences to life.

For colleagues, it was a chance to share their working world with family and friends. And sometimes, to see it differently themselves.

Three generations, three different perspectives

For Aditi, Family Days became a bit of a role reversal. Instead of showing her family around, she often found herself following them.

Aditi experienced the weekend with her husband Jacob, who also works at the LEGO Group, their two young children and her parents-in-law.

“Everybody had their own adventure,” she says.

Her father-in-law was fascinated by the technology and machinery. Her mother-in-law noticed the colours, creativity and attention to detail. Meanwhile, her children proudly showed off some of their favourite places.

One moment especially stayed with Aditi. When visitors were asked what makes a happy childhood, her five-year-old daughter had a simple answer:

“LEGO bricks.”

The weekend also gave Aditi a chance to see her own workplace through fresh eyes.

“I pass these things every day, taking them for granted. Suddenly my family would stop and point something out, and I would think, ‘wow, I never noticed that before.’”

Sharing what's behind the bricks

While families explored, colleagues across Billund were helping bring the experience to life.

Lilly, Tina and Malene were among the colleagues who spent months preparing activities and getting ready to welcome curious visitors.

For Lilly, one of the highlights was sharing a part of the LEGO Group that many visitors knew little about.

“We had guests who have worked at the LEGO Group for years telling us they'd never heard about our area before. They were genuinely fascinated by what we do.”

Elsewhere, visitors discovered everything from brick-built sheep and creations made from recycled LEGO elements to flower-building, engineering and the technology behind how LEGO bricks are made.

“When you see guests light up because they've discovered something they didn't know before, that's when you know it was worth it,” says Malene.

Something worth sharing

“We're incredibly proud of what we do,” Tina says. “And it's really special to share that with families, friends and colleagues from elsewhere in the company.”

For one weekend, thousands of guests got to look behind the bricks and experience a little of what makes working here so special.
