At the LEGO Group we have always strived to be best in class when it comes to our users’ online safety. We have always been, and will continue to be, one of the first to implement the latest standards and adhere to the latest GDPR and COPPA regulations.

As part of this, we have introduced Verified Parental Consent, enabling parents to verify themselves and give consent for their child to play and share in the LEGO Life app.

To create a safe environment for kids, we need to verify that the consent is given by an adult. Up until now, we have verified parents using email, but as legislation and safety standards continue to improve, we have decided to opt for a more secure way by asking for either ID or credit/debit card details instead. Verification is absolutely free and we will not store any details. The LEGO Life app is an entirely free digital experience with no hidden costs or in-app purchases.

The verification process will allow you to sign up for a LEGO Account and link this with your child’s account. You will then have access to a parental control dashboard.

STEPS FOR VERIFICATION

1. The easiest way to get started is to ask your child to share a photo on LEGO Life of something they have built

2. A screen will appear telling your child to ask a parent for verification

3. Have your ID card or credit/debit card ready and then follow the on-screen instructions.

4. Choose which online activities your child should have access to via the parental control dashboard.

The whole thing will take no more than a couple of minutes and once you have completed verification, you will never have to do it again!

Besides making the LEGO® Life app a safer place for your child, verification also unlocks even more features in the app for your child to enjoy!

With a verified account, you child can:

- Upload and share photos

- Enter competitions

- Comment with free text

- Join building challenges and other activities
