"Great things happen when you take a chance." Meet Christina🌟

When Christina Haagh Christensen first applied for a student worker role, it was not part of a plan. In fact, her path already seemed set. But she applied and got the role. And what was meant to be a small detour became something much bigger.
That decision changed everything. It didn’t just change my career direction, it changed my education path and ultimately led me into leadership.”
Christina joined as a student worker doing front-end coding. Over time, she moved through digital production, content production and project management, before stepping into people leadership in Our LEGO Agency.

“I’ve had several roles across the organisation. What started as a coincidence became the foundation for everything I’ve built since.”
It wasn’t just the opportunity that made her stay. It was the feeling.
“It wasn’t a big strategic decision. It just felt right. Even as a student worker, I felt the LEGO magic. The culture, the people, the atmosphere.”
That sense of belonging quickly became something more.
“Over time, I realised this is a place where you can grow and be yourself.”
Her career grew alongside that realisation, shaped not by a fixed plan, but by people who opened doors at the right moment.
“Every step happened because someone believed in me or gave me a chance before I felt ready. Leaders trusted me with responsibility, colleagues invited me into projects outside my comfort zone, and teams encouraged me to try something new.”
Today, she leads a team of digital producers. But for Christina, the biggest shift was not the role itself. It was what she discovered along the way.
“I’ve gone from executing tasks, to running projects, to leading people. And what surprised me most is how much I love people leadership.”
That belief in people sits at the centre of how she defines success.

Over time, Christina has developed a clear leadership approach rooted in care, trust and psychological safety.
“I believe people do their best work when they feel safe, supported and trusted. My role as a leader is not to have all the answers, but to create the space where others can grow, speak up and dare to take chances. When people feel seen and supported, they step up in ways they often didn’t think they were ready for.”
“The most rewarding part of my job is always the people. When you are surrounded by brilliant, kind and passionate colleagues, you raise your own bar. That energy spreads.”
It is something she has felt personally.
“My team nominated me for the ‘Most Caring’ award at our internal OLA Awards. And I won it. I cried. Happy tears.”
That moment stayed with her.
“It reminded me that everything starts and ends with people.”
The work itself reaches far beyond the team.
“Our Digital Studio produces around 3,650 assets a year. Roughly 100 a day. From videos to social content to web experiences, we meet LEGO fans wherever they are.”
But it is not the scale that defines the work. It is how it comes together.
“Everything we produce is the result of close collaboration across many people and disciplines. That is what makes it special.”
That same spirit shapes how challenges are approached.
“No one solves anything alone here. We rely on our network, on each other, and on a strong one-team mindset.”
And sometimes, it is the smaller moments that make the biggest difference.

“One initiative I’m really proud of is our ‘Yeah Wheel’. It’s a series of small, playful team moments. Things like learning something useless in 30 days or sharing your childhood self. It made quite an impact. People opened up. Bonds became stronger. Collaboration became easier. It reminded us that when we invest in relationships, everything else improves too.”
For Christina, that is what caring looks like in practice.
“It creates a ripple effect. You’re inspired by others, you elevate your own work, and that inspires someone else again.”
That belief was reinforced during a difficult period.
“After an accident that left me with a concussion, I was supported in a way I will never forget. I could return at my own pace, without pressure, and I had access to specialists and support. I never felt alone.”
Her own journey is something she now actively pays forward.
The experiences that shaped Christina’s own career now strongly influence how she develops others.
“I’ve been given opportunities before I felt fully ready more times than I can count. That has shaped me deeply. Today, I try to pay that forward by opening doors for others, giving responsibility early and supporting people as they grow into roles that may feel slightly uncomfortable at first. Growth rarely happens inside the comfort zone.”
“One of the most meaningful experiences for me has been supporting a young colleague from student worker to a full-time role. Watching that growth and being part of it is incredibly rewarding. My entire LEGO journey has been about open doors. Every step led to the next because someone supported me or gave me a chance.”
It is also why her advice is so direct.
“Only apply if you are ready to grow. Really grow.”
And if you do?
“Be prepared. You might find your forever job.”
