Throughout the more than two decades of LEGO® Star Wars™ history, there have been plenty of brick-built versions of the iconic Millennium Falcon.
The Falcon has a colourful history in the Star Wars galaxy. Best known for being captained by the legendary Han Solo, escaping Tatooine and helping to destroy the dreaded Death Star, the Millennium Falcon is a truly iconic ‘hunk of junk’ that fans know and love.
So, to honour the many variations of the starship, let’s explore the timeline – starting over 20 years ago, perfectly timed, at the turn of the millennium…
The Millennium Falcon™ 7190 - (2000)
Released all the way back in 2000, this LEGO® Star Wars™ Millennium Falcon™ set became the first of its kind, marking the new millennium with a build that set the stage for all future LEGO Star Wars Falcon sets.
Made up of 659 parts, and fully kitted out with hideaway compartments for secret cargo and defences like deflector shields, rotating turrets and laser cannons, it depicted the Millennium Falcon in LEGO brick form for the very first time. This set was also the first ever LEGO Star Wars set to introduce a Princess Leia minifigure.
The Mini Millennium Falcon™ 4488 - (2003)
Coming next is a bite-sized LEGO® Star Wars™ Millennium Falcon™ model launched in 2003 that, despite its miniature scale, didn’t skimp on detail.
This 87-piece set included bonus parts to construct an additional Y-wing Fighter to complement the Falcon. Just 4.5cm high and 14.5cm wide, this tiny rendition captured all the elements of the classic starship with amazing accuracy.
Millennium Falcon™ 4504 - (2004)
The following year, we launched the 2004 Hoth edition of the Millennium Falcon™, an impressive upgrade that introduced the now-iconic panel design, setting the standard for future LEGO® Star Wars™ Millennium Falcon builds for years to come. Inspired by the snow-covered planet of Hoth seen in Star Wars: The Empire Strike's Back™, the model included Hoth-themed LEGO Star Wars minifigures like a Snowtrooper, Leia and Han Solo, capturing all the details as seen in the icy Rebel base.
Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon™ 10179 - (2007)
This Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon™ set took LEGO® engineering to a new level, recreating every detail of the iconic modified Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 freighter at an unprecedented scale as part of the Ultimate Collector Series.
With a staggering 5,197 pieces and measuring nearly 90cm in length, it was fully built to scale, allowing 4 characters to sit in the cockpit and control the starship. Featuring rotating radar dishes, quad-laser turrets and an extendable boarding ramp, this model was loaded with details, making it one of the most immersive buildable versions of the starship.
Midi-scale Millennium Falcon™ 7778 - (2009)
Next, we come to the one and only Midi-scale Millennium Falcon™ (7778) from 2009. Not quite mini, not quite play-scale and definitely not quite Ultimate Collector’s. This version found a middle ground between our smaller and play-scale models, offering a displayable, mid-sized Millennium Falcon.
Millennium Falcon™ 7965 - (2011)
In 2011, yet another Millennium Falcon™ set was launched for LEGO® Star Wars™ fans. This fan-favourite included details such as hull plates that open to reveal a detailed interior, twin flick fire missiles, rotating quad laser cannons and a detachable cockpit cover, chairs, a cup, control panels and a Dejarik game board.
Millennium Falcon™ Microfighter 75030 - (2014)
Han Solo really lived up to his name with this edition as the only LEGO® Star Wars™ minifigure in the set. But then again, he has outrun Imperial starships, not the local bulk cruisers, mind you. We’re talking about the big Corellian ships now.
This mini version of the Millennium Falcon™ (only 5cm high, but still taller than its mini predecessor launched 11 years earlier) didn’t compromise on quality. This edition featured a quad laser cannon with two flick fire missiles and a mini cockpit for Solo to pilot the starship.
Millennium Falcon™ 75105 - (2015)
Moving on to 2015 we have the Millennium Falcon™ (75105) from Star Wars: The Force Awakens™ – the first LEGO® version of the starship not based on the original trilogy.
In the film, the Falcon lies in a scrapyard, following years of misuse and neglect. Something our fabulous designers put an incredible amount of painstaking effort into replicating in the model’s interior design.
Inspired by scenes from the film, this was the first Millennium Falcon set to introduce a whole new cast of characters, including Rey and Finn, our valiant protagonists, and the cutest droid in the galaxy, BB-8.
UCS Millennium Falcon™ 75192 - (2017)
Up to this point, the UCS Millennium Falcon™ 75192 is the biggest, most detailed LEGO® Star Wars™ set yet. With 7,541 pieces, it’s a pretty spectacular sight. This set features intricate exterior detailing, upper and lower quad laser cannons, landing legs, a lowering boarding ramp and a 4-minifigure cockpit with detachable canopy.
Kessel Run Millennium Falcon™ 75212 - (2018)
If there was an award for the best-looking hunk of junk in the galaxy, it would easily go to the beautiful blue-and-white Kessel Run Millennium Falcon™ (75212) set. This version has a streamlined and snazzy look that contrasts with the later iteration’s deliberately…rustic…design.
Recreating the version of the Millennium Falcon from Solo: A Star Wars Story™, as it made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs, this 2018 edition was a homage to the sheer speed of the starship and its unmatched hyperspace technology.
Millennium Falcon™ 75257 - (2019)
This detailed play set allowed fans to recreate scenes from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker™, with LEGO® Star Wars™ minifigures including Finn, Chewbacca, Lando and droids R2-D2 and D-O.
This LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon™ 75257 model has rotating top and bottom gun turrets, 2 spring-loaded shooters, a lowering ramp and an opening cockpit with space for 2 minifigures.
Millennium Falcon™ Microfighter 75295 - (2021)
Fans could act as the Rebel hero from Star Wars™ in their own stories with this quick-to-build LEGO® Microfighter version of the Millennium Falcon™ (75295) from the classic Star Wars trilogy. A quick, fun build, this tiny Microfighter edition of the starship had space for Han Solo and two stud shooters.
Millennium Falcon™ 75375 - (2024)
In 2024, we celebrated the 25-year anniversary of LEGO® Star Wars™ by releasing a new and improved Millennium Falcon™ (75375) set. This set not only has all the minute details, but also a nameplate and commemorative 25th-anniversary brick to add to the model once built. Designed as part of the new-for-2024 LEGO Star Wars Starship Collection, this mid-scale recreation of the Millennium Falcon is the perfect size to display in your home or office.
The Dark Falcon 75389 - (2024)
Also in 2024, we released The Dark Falcon (75389) – a new version of the Millennium Falcon unlike any that we'd ever seen. This model introduces a bold, darker design, with sleek black plates and striking red highlights that give the ship a mysterious twist, inspired by the LEGO® Star Wars™: Rebuild the Galaxy Disney+ four-piece special.
Giving fans a whole new take on the iconic starship, this special playset also includes six never-before-seen minifigures, including Darth Jar Jar (yes, you heard that right!), Beach Luke and Jedi Vader.
