Where Heritage Meets Play: Step Inside the First-ever LEGO Shophouse Experience

The LEGO Group invites fans to rediscover creativity through culture with the first-ever LEGO Shophouse Experience from 13 March to 5 April at Design Orchard. Open from 11 am - 9 pm daily, this one-of-a-kind pop-up transforms Design Orchard (Level 2) into an immersive showcase where heritage, imagination, and play converge.

Shophouses have always been more than buildings; they are living expressions of culture and community, where memories are created and shared across generations. Inspired by this spirit, the LEGO Shophouse Experience reimagines the intimacy and familiarity of a Singaporean home and brings it to life through the iconic LEGO bricks, creating a warm and nostalgic space that invites visitors to pause, learn and appreciate the Peranakan design elements.

A Journey Through the LEGO Shophouse
Designed to mirror the flow of a real home, the LEGO Shophouse Experience unfolds across a series of thoughtfully curated rooms, each with something new to discover. Visitors move through spaces inspired by familiar Singaporean interiors, brought to life with detailed LEGO builds, vibrant colours, and playful touches that reference Peranakan design and everyday life.

At the foyer entrance, visitors will be greeted by Singapore’s very first Peranakan-inspired LEGO brick tile wall, a striking centrepiece that blends tradition with creativity and is set to be the picture-perfect backdrop for visitors of all ages.

Next, step into a lively dining space filled with heritage-inspired patterns and wander into a cosy living room to discover how LEGO creations can double as stylish home décor with vibrant botanical pieces that add a pop of colour and a spark of creativity into everyday living.

Further inside, the adult room channels passion and individuality, unfolding as a bold, futuristic retreat accented by dynamic lighting and curated LEGO displays.

In contrast, the kids’ room offers a softer, dream-like atmosphere in pastel tones, complete with twin lofts, study nooks, and playful LEGO collections designed to spark imagination and wonder.

The experience also spotlights fan-built creations, underscoring LEGO’s commitment to engaging its builder community and celebrating the originality and imagination fans bring to the LEGO world. By reimagining a uniquely Singaporean space through LEGO builds, it offers a refreshing perspective on play, inviting adults, families, and enthusiasts alike to see creativity beyond age and rediscover the joy of building together.
Hands-On Moments of Creativity
As visitors journey through the space, they can create their own postcard by collecting stamp colours that gradually unveils a special graphic honouring the Peranakan heritage.

Upon completion of the postcard, guests can create their very own retro LEGO Boombox and LEGO Peranakan mosaic tile at the pop-up retail zone, creating a truly one-of-a-kind keepsake to bring home (limited quantities daily).

Visitors who sign up for LEGO Insiders, LEGO’s free membership programme on LEGO.com, will receive a LEGO Insiders brick-based reward, such as the Grey Castle Set, Tape Player, or Baby Gorilla Encounter. Simply sign up onsite and flash your confirmation to redeem the special surprise, limited on a first-come, first-served basis daily.

Adding to the fun, visitors can put their observation skills to the test at the Peranakan-inspired LEGO brick tile wall by guessing how many bricks went into building it. At the end of the pop-up, five lucky winners with the closest accurate brick count will be selected to receive a LEGO set.
