Discover Singapore's largest LEGO Mural at the National Museum of Singapore to celebrate Singapore’s 60th year

From 18 July to 9 August, the LEGO Group is partnering with the National Museum of Singapore to honour Singapore’s 60th birthday through LEGO play with a LEGO art showcase, a record-breaking mural and interactive activities for the community. At the heart of this collaboration is Singapore’s largest LEGO Mural, built with 265,743 LEGO bricks to create a row of colourful, nostalgic shophouses echoing the early days of Singapore’s bustling commerce in the 1960s.

Officially recognised by the Singapore Book of Records, the mural was unveiled today by Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry, which also marks the launch of the National Day Celebrations at the National Museum of Singapore. As part of the activation, visitors are invited to contribute the final bricks to this record-breaking mural, becoming part of a collective moment in history and cementing the mural’s place in the Singapore Book of Records.
Running from 18 July to 9 August in the Stamford Gallery at the National Museum of Singapore, the Stories of Singapore: Building Our Heritage, Brick by Brick showcase invites visitors to explore the nation’s stories through LEGO creations. The colourful display features iconic Singaporean landmarks such as the Changi Airport Control Tower and Bumboats along the Singapore River, built entirely from LEGO bricks.

Recognising that Singaporeans are widely known for their love of food, the showcase also features intricate LEGO builds of beloved local dishes like Hainanese Chicken Rice, Chilli Crab, and the ever-so-famous Singaporean breakfast - kaya butter toast with soft boiled eggs. In a celebration of community spirit, visitors can also enjoy LEGO artworks by students of the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) that depict historical and modern scenes inspired by our iconic Singapore River. To complete the experience, visitors can participate in a LEGO Make & Take activity to build their very own Mini LEGO Orchid as a commemorative SG60 memento.

In the spirit of SG60, The LEGO Group is also spotlighting its collection of Singapore-inspired LEGO sets - a celebration of the icons that make our country unique. Enjoy quality time and get in the spirit of the celebrations with the 21057 Singapore set, recreating iconic Singaporean elements such as Marina Bay Sands, the OCBC Centre, One Raffles Place, Lau Pa Sat food market, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay.

A representative symbol of Singapore’s national flower, the 10311 Orchid and 10343 Mini Orchid sets invite LEGO fans of all ages to create a beautiful display of orchids, making an ever-lasting floral display.
