From ghosts to goblins and zombies to witches, you’re in for a frightfully good time. So, look out, as we round up the creepiest macabre minifigures ever made. Something wicked this way comes...

    The classic Skeleton

This bag of bones has become something of a LEGO® minifigure icon, and so just had to kick off our list! Appearing in dozens of sets, Skeleton has evolved from having a solid torso with printed ribs to this more dynamic, cut-out version, and can often be found lingering in dungeons or haunting the unsuspecting in our sets. Did you spot him hanging out in Barad-dûr™ recently? They’d make a nightmarish addition to any display or scene.

Vampire Knight from Collectible Minifigures Series 25

There had to be at least one vampire included in this list, right? But which one?! There have been so many heebie-jeebie-inducing ones over the years, it was hard to choose (shout-out to you, Lord Vampyre from Monster Fighters). But after careful consideration, this sinister soldier (okay, knight) made it, due to his particularly ghoulish and fearsome appearance. And if the blood-red jerkin, chainmail, bat wing-style cape, bat-emblazoned shield and transparent, red axe hasn’t convinced you yet, then just check out those menacing red eyes, peering at you from behind his awesome winged helmet.

Zombie Bride from The Zombies (9465)

Released in 2012, the LEGO Monster Fighters The Zombies set came with three undead monsters, but the Zombie Bride was by far the most terrifying of them all. With her wedding dress in tatters, her discolored eyes drooping and a wry smile on her red lips, she really is the stuff of nightmares. Can’t imagine the wedding day was much fun either...

The Monster from The Crazy Scientist & His Monster (9466)

We simply couldn’t miss the minifigure version of this classic monster – a macabre science experiment brought to life! This minifigure Monster has been through a few iterations over the years (popping up in various sets and minifigure collections – see Series 4, Series 14, The Haunted House (10228) and Scary Laboratory (1382)) in various colors and decorations. But to us, you can’t beat the undeniably classic grey-green skin, tatty brown suit and toothy grimace. We love the added detail of the metallic staples holding his enlarged forehead together for extra gore, too.

Zombie Cheerleader from Minifigures Series 14

If high school cheerleaders weren’t scary enough already, their zombie form takes scare to a whole new level. Don’t be deceived by her pom-poms and pigtails, this fearleader likes nothing more than a captive, screaming audience. The authentic detailing on her torso and legs (with Z for zombie emblazoned on her torso, of course) and the green of her outfit contrasting eerily with the red of her sunken, unearthly eyes, we can’t help but love this characterful fear-master, who comes complete with two deathly pom-poms.

Gothic Girl from Collectible Minifigures Series 12

What screams ‘horror’ more than a long-haired little girl dragging around a one-eyed soft toy? The empty stare, the insect-filled pocket and plush companion with his downturned smile suggest there’s a (terrifying) story behind that emotionless expression. We love the graphics on this monochrome beauty, and think she’ll make an unnerving addition to any home display or collection.

    LEGO NINJAGO® Chain Master Wrayth

What’s more terrifying than a ghost? A ghost armed with a flaming Master Blade, that’s what. This cursed figure is so spec’d out, it just had to make the cut. The detailing is almost unmatched – chain decoration covers his torso, while grey, sinister eyes peep out from behind the navy and purple mummy-like wrappings and headband. Add to that the lurid yellow, ghostly legs, this haunting spirit would boost any spooky display.

Specter from Collectible Minifigures Series 14

What darkness lover could resist the sheer terror of Specter? This ghostly, hooded ghoul is the epitome of frightening. We can’t get enough of the extra detail on this minifigure – the transparent, phantom legs, his threadbare cloak and metallic chains – we can almost hear them rattling! For us, Spectre ticks all of our spooky boxes.

Haunted Ghost from The Haunted House (10228)

Speaking of specters, this spooky figure might not be the scariest minifigure on our list, but its classic horror story form means we simply had to include it! Its dark, pupil-less eyes, downturned mouth and draped white sheet-style detailing all add up to a classic creepy LEGO minifigure we couldn’t be without! Oh, and did we mention there’s a glow-in-the-dark version, too? Boo!

The Never Witch from Castle Nocturnia (71486)

The nightmare creature and enchantress from the dream world that no macabre scene would be complete without. With the ability to ensnare dreamers into a hypnotic state, this pink-haired villain looks the part with her spiky headdress, demonic red eyes and a sinister, inviting smile.

Banshee from Collectible Minifigures Series 14

Series 14 is packed with spooky suspects, like the blood-curdling banshee! But beware, for she’s not all she appears... this spiritual siren will lure you to your doom! Her pale green skin, tattered torso detailing, semi-transparent, ghostly legs, textured hair and tear-streaked face make for a uniquely creepy minifigure – a must-own for gothic lovers!

And that’s it, our top 10 tantalizingly terrifying minifigures.

    ... No, you’re scared!
