The More You Play, The More You Grow with Leandra!

The More You Play, The More You Grow with Leandra!

Leandra is raising her third toddler, and was a big fan of LEGO® DUPLO® bricks as a child.
So she’s always eager to get down on the floor and build with her kids. Because she knows that the benefits of play aren’t just for toddlers. It gives parents a chance to develop important skills like patience, empathy, creativity, problem solving and so many more. Her best parenting advice is, “be a good role model for your child. Children imitate everything and really try to learn from us. So, we should try to be good people ourselves.”

The LEGO DUPLO Alphabet Truck set has been a huge help for Leandra in teaching her toddler by example. Here are a few tricks to bring into your next playtime.

    Say it. Report it.

Share the sound each letter makes and then have your toddler repeat it while clicking the brick in place. The easiest way for toddlers to start practicing letters is to hear them coming from you. And you get to work on your communication skills.

    Give and Take

If toddlers see you sharing and taking turns, they’ll start doing it too. So pile up the letter bricks and have them ask you for one at a time. And then have them do the same for you. Soon they’ll be the best sharer their age! Same with you and your teamwork skills!

    Clean Up Contest

Scatter the letter bricks all over the playroom and challenge them to click all the bricks back on the truck before you do. Once they see you running around and having fun, cleaning won’t seem so boring. Practicing their fine motor skills while clicking the bricks in place is an added bonus!
