Growing as a leader. Meet Pablo 👋

For Pablo, leadership means creating space for ideas to grow while giving teams the structure and playground to turn them into action; he gains motivation from leading with clarity and kindess. His story reflects the balance of creativity, focus, and purpose at the heart of the team’s work.

Pablo

Growing with purpose

For Pablo, LEGO® Education brings together purpose, creativity, finance, and learning impact. After building his career with the LEGO Group in Mexico, relocating to Denmark with his wife, and taking on broader global responsibilities, he now helps shape decisions that influence how students learn and grow around the world.
“It feels more like a home than a corporate giant—somewhere I belong.” Pablo, Head of Financial Planning & Controlling

That journey has helped Pablo grow beyond functional expertise. From supporting digital transformation and value framework work at the LEGO Group to shaping financial planning and controlling for LEGO Education, where decisions are closely connected to learning outcomes for students and educators.

Today, Pablo works at the intersection of finance, strategy, and decision-making, helping leaders make confident short- and long-term choices across planning cycles, priorities, and investment decisions.

“We help bring clarity—understanding where to invest, how to prioritise, and how to ensure we’re creating value in what we do.”

Translating financial data into insights

A key part of Pablo’s role is turning complexity into clarity, whether translating financial data into insights or helping teams understand what decisions mean in practice.

“It’s not just about the numbers. It’s about turning them into insight, enabling better decisions, and creating impact.”
That ability to distil complexity into action helps teams move faster and stay aligned.

Thinking beyond your own role

As Pablo has grown, one of the biggest shifts has been moving from functional expertise to enterprise thinking, considering how each decision affects other teams, priorities, and the outcomes LEGO Education is trying to achieve.

This end-to-end thinking is essential in LEGO Education, where collaboration across functions is key to delivering impact. It also enables Pablo to act as a connector, bringing perspectives together, aligning priorities, and helping teams move forward.

Finance might traditionally be seen as structured and analytical, but Pablo’s experience has been more creative. Whether working on digital investments, value frameworks, or planning decisions that support playful learning, he sees creativity in how teams solve problems and move ideas forward.

“The best ideas often come from building on each other’s thinking—that’s how we solve problems creatively.”
For Pablo, creativity shows up in how teams explore scenarios, challenge assumptions, and align around shared priorities, creating space for ideas to grow while keeping the discipline needed to deliver outcomes.

A global perspective that shapes thinking

Pablo’s journey has been shaped by global experience, including relocating from Mexico to Denmark and working across regions, functions, and organisational contexts.

“Working across cultures has taught me to listen more deeply, adapt thoughtfully, and bring together ideas from different contexts.”
It has also reinforced the importance of alignment, where diverse perspectives lead to stronger, more effective decisions.

Today, that global lens is embedded in how he works, helping him bring together insights from different teams and translate them into better business choices.

Human, collaborative & grounded in trust

As a leader, Pablo focuses on creating an environment where people feel safe to contribute, challenge thinking, and grow, not just deliver.
“It starts with creating a space where people feel safe to share ideas, ask questions, and challenge thinking.”

In practice, that means building strong relationships, encouraging open dialogue, being transparent about decisions, and supporting people both professionally and personally.

It’s a leadership style that reflects the wider culture, human, collaborative, and grounded in trust.

Looking back, what stands out most for Pablo is not just the roles he has held, but the environment he has grown in.
It is an environment where people are encouraged to think differently, trusted to contribute, supported to grow across roles and geographies, and connected to a purpose beyond the organisation itself.

“You’re empowered to make a difference, not just in your role, but across the business.”
For Pablo, that combination of growth, trust, and purpose continues to make the journey challenging, rewarding, and deeply meaningful.
