I consider this my first major build. I've always loved the look of the Wall-E set since it was announced - and was always on my list to get it. I came home from Work to find my Awesome Wife had bought it for me when she was in town! I was so Chuffed. I started building it that night - at first it was a little daunting - emptying the boxes' contents onto my desk - i thought it a little odd that none of the bags were numbered - even though there are 600 pieces - not to worry. 20 minutes of sorting soon put that to rest and the build commenced! Throughout the build i was amazed at how things come together so beautifully. The mastery of the design is to be admired. Its simply gorgeous. And very sturdy. I've never geeked out so much in my life. The experience of building / along with the finished product is something i am going to treasure for a long, long time. So wait not - If you are looking at this review - then let me assure you - buy it! Buy it now! And you too can have yourself a pet Wall-E. You won't regret the purchase - This is a set that punches way beyond its price point. Happy Building! And Lego... Thanks for the Memories. Jamie.Play Experience5.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

This is the first new LEGO set I have built in about 27 years — I made the ‘mistake’ of touching LEGO bricks while helping my godchild build some old sets, and my sleeping LEGO addiction has flared up again. I reckoned the only cure is to buy more sets, and this one looked like a great starting point. The build starts out pretty basic, although due to my long dark ages period, many of the parts were new to me. It does become really interesting at the end: the way in which the head and arms are constructed is very ingenious. I didn't expect a pneumatic piece in this build. Some build tips: 1. The two tracks, ‘eyes’, and arms are perfectly symmetrical, therefore it makes sense to build them in parallel instead of sequentially as in the instructions. Just double the part count for every step, and mirror everything. 2. To ensure the tracks roll smoothly without making them wobbly, put a sheet of paper in between the pieces while fitting the wheels to the pins, then pull it out. This leaves a tiny gap and low friction (still, the tracks will only roll on carpets and other rough surfaces, unless one could get hold of those rubber studs as used in the new fortrex). The end result looks stunning (if not a bit too clean for being Wall•E) and has many options for posing. The current version does not have any of the loose neck problems I've read about in older reviews. It should be relatively easy to build a kind of ‘BnL’ basket to hook up onto the supports at Wall•E's back. With two motors, an IR remote, and a battery pack that fits inside (just), it is possible to turn this into a remote-controlled model. All in all, this is great value for its price and a must-have for fans of both the movie and LEGO.Play Experience4.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

Its very hard to find Wall-E in Indonesia, Singapore or in Taiwan. I already tried to check in Lego Store in front of Flatiron building but they said it will come on Summer. Luckily, I found it in small BN near East St. The price is normal for me while in other country it can be twice of it. I brought it home to Indonesia, assemble it. I got Wall-E that already has revision on its neck so it can move freely. I'm very satisfied with my Wall-E :)Play Experience4.0Value for Money4.0Was this helpful?

I would recommend this to a friend!
Wall.e is a fantastic model, and it is a shame to see some focus on the neck joint. My wife suggested a simple and inexpensive solution to provide some friction in the neck joint: PTFE tape (used to wrap pipe threads in plumbing; I don't think it will harm the Lego brick as it contains no glue and is easily removed). Some experimentation is required regarding the optimum number of wraps around the pin, but you will be pleased with the result and then able to enjoy this incredible model as it was intended. Wall.e contains some of the most clever building techniques I have yet seen combined in a single Lego model: from the use of rubber grommets to provide friction in the arms to the very complicated eye pieces where studs are facing all directions. This set is a bargain for the price, and a very entertaining build. Highly recommended.Play Experience4.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?
