INSIDE THE ACTION: FORMULA 1 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX 2025

Two massive LEGO® fans in the world’s biggest playground… sounds like a fun time, right? Throw in the glitz and glamour of a Grand Prix™ and exclusive access to stunning LEGO events and showpieces, and you’ve got a truly unmissable week.

Yep, it’s fair to say this F1® extravaganza had more than racing on the cards for LEGO ambassadors Nicole (@girlbricksalot) and Jean (@jeansversion). A whole host of brick-built attractions were waiting for them, and these superfans made the most of their once-in-a-lifetime trip!

Sights and secrets

Let’s be honest, on any given day Las Vegas is packed full of incredible sights and sounds, but with Formula 1® in town, it’s a dream come true for superfans Jean and Nicole. Besides snapping obligatory pictures with the world-famous Las Vegas sign and countless Elvises, they went behind the scenes and got up close with the life-size LEGO® Cadillac build that features over 418,000 bricks.

Designed with more pink pieces than any other LEGO build ever, it would’ve been easy to mistake this for the world’s biggest toy; so, imagine Nicole and Jean’s surprise when they discovered it was actually fully drivable, with working lights and an built-in radio! The car was created to chauffeur the FORMULA 1 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX 2025 podium finishers to the trophy presentation after the race, with the one and only Terry Crews sat behind the wheel as they coasted along the track.

As the lights went out on the track, it was lights on across the rest of the city, so Nicole and Jean made sure to spend a little time catching some night sights. Giant LEGO models were the perfect warm-up for hands-on building, so a trip to the ‘Build the Thrill’ fan zone was lined up next. Packed with families spending time together throughout the FORMULA 1 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX 2025, it featured a ‘Make and Take’ area to encourage visitors to get creative and design as a team. Who knows, maybe some budding F1® engineers were putting together a prototype for a future championship-winning car!

With shelves and display cabinets stacked with the LEGO Group’s entire F1 collection across LEGO Speed Champions, LEGO City, LEGO DUPLO® and LEGO Icons collectibles, it was also the ideal place to boost racing collections.

Head-to-head

With the LEGO Group’s much anticipated upcoming entry into the exciting world of F1 ACADEMY™, the racing world has been looking forward to the newcomers lifting the curtain (or garage door, as it were) on their first-ever car. And what better place to do it than the final race of the season? Nicole and Jean were whisked over to the pitlane of the Las Vegas Strip Circuit to see the vehicle unveiled in the flesh (…or, err, carbon fiber), and it was clear to everyone in attendance that the LEGO® design team hadn’t held back; its unique design was one of the most colorful sights of the weekend, which, given the location, is really saying something!

Once they were done drooling over the car, they took the opportunity to meet LEGO racing’s premier driver, Esmee Kosterman. Having made her F1 ACADEMY debut in 2025 at Round 5 of the season in Zandvoort, her home race, she was an obvious pick for LEGO racing.

Esmee quizzed the brick fans with a series of quickfire questions and challenges, pitting them against each other to win as many LEGO racing cars as they could (Nicole just edged it). Luckily, both contestants got to go home with the LEGO version of Esmee’s stunning car, the F1 ACADEMY LEGO Race Car (77258), so there were no hard feelings!

And that was that! A non-stop weekend jam-packed with fun, friendship and F1® came to an end in the best way possible… a humongous fireworks display. Viva Las Vegas!
