I would recommend this to a friend!
I recently bought 4 out of the 5 new sets from this recent wave. This has to be one of the best looking and cool feature packed sets to date, and a great value in terms of price per piece. The turn dial for the windmill is very sturdy and feels great to click around. The hammer to knock over the Reznor's is very effective as well and is fun to knock them off! Also you can stick Mario/Luigi on one of the tiles and give him a nice ride on a windmill :-) It also has the see-saw grrrol section which is a fun simple feature as well. What I like most is the two player functionality worked into this set, as well the rest of the wave, they were very mindful about it. I would definitely recommend picking this up and see how everything works and plays!Play Experience5.0Building Experience5.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

My nephew loved this lego set. He said this was his favorite one. He was so excited to open it and it comes with everything shown on the front of the box. It is a really well made toy. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great toy or gift.Play Experience4.0Building Experience4.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?

I would recommend this to a friend!
I highly recommend building this set with a grownup. It’s a very technical and difficult set to build. I loved the new Mario pipe in the set. I feel like the groll piece feels a little left out from the rest of the set as it’s connected off to the side from the set. Its cool that there’s a space on the carousel to ride on. I like the new walking piece for toad. Its fun to knock down the Reznors!Play Experience5.0Building Experience2.0Value for Money3.0Was this helpful?

I would recommend this to a friend!
This set is a lot of fun and I definitely recommend it! They did a good job of recreating the Reznor, or “Rhino Dino” boss battle from Super Mario World and the Super Mario DS. The build was fun and somewhat simple, but there was a little confusion on the build order on the app. It says after you finish the “windmill” part in bag 5, continue to bag 7 for the ? Block mechanism (located as the bottom left of the tower that raises the bar code up to make it readable). Not only did they skip bag 6 with the skewer, but bag 5 still had pieces for a little brick with a torch on it. It doesn’t tell you to build these until later. This created a bit of confusion, which led to me going to bag 7 with bag 5 still opened and with loose pieces lying around unsure of what to do with them. I suggest that when building for the first time, after building the pipe, build blue toad, THEN the windmill, then skip to the skewer, then the small torch block, then go back to the ? Block mechanism, then the final construction. As for the final product, it is a lot of fun and is loaded with teamwork functions such as using one to turn the windmill while the other rides it, or using one to rotate it while the other rams the Reznor off its platform. The Reznors have 5 lives, and you defeat them by rotating the windmill and knocking them off with the skewer, and then stomping on their heads. They give you 5 coins each. I really think the windmill part should have some music, like the mini boss battle theme or something, but oh well. I’m not entirely sure why they needed such an elaborate way to access the ? Block, where you need to position it over a rock looking thing on the ground that pushes up the barcode, allowing the figure to read it, but it works… anyway, the “Grrol” is a spinning buzz saw that you jump on the two ends of the “See-Saw” to tilt it and make the him roll towards you. You need to do it three times to defeat him. This one is also a good teamwork one as well. I love the Blue toad in this one and I hope more colored toads follow. Apparently he is captured at the top of the rotating block tower and you free him my riding the windmill to the top and scanning his barcode. Any other scan after that he is just a “meet n greet” like Yoshi, or Toadette from other sets. The pipe in this one is pretty fun, although I would’ve liked it more if it was a different color. I mean, there is already a yellow pipe, and of course the green pipe, and even a cannon, so why couldn’t they make this one blue, or red, or something? I personally would prefer a little more variety in pipe colors. Oh well, maybe next time… Anyway, the way this one works is you are seeing how fast you can collect 50 coins (and will also count as a 15 second boost if you are using the regular pipe!). The flag is not needed for this pipe; the game ends when you collect 50 coins. You are considered to have done a good job when it is completed below 60 seconds. The music is the same as the yellow pipe from the Master your adventure expansion, which is the Slider Theme from Super Mario 64. Again, I wish there could be a little more variety in that, but whatever. I really love this set and it is very fun with only a few little nitpicks here and there. Great job LEGO!Play Experience5.0Building Experience2.0Value for Money4.0Was this helpful?
