Helping children navigate in-game friendships can be truly empowering. This activity offers fun and playful ways for families to have early conversations about online kindness – what it means, how to model it and how to handle unkind behavior.
Find a comfy place to sit with your child. Grab a handful of LEGO® bricks, paper, pencils or any favorite craft materials. You’ll be building and getting creative as you go through the activity!
The story is made up of 4 video chapters. In each video, you’ll come across a situation your child might face in an online game. If your child hasn’t experienced a similar situation, no worries. Ask them to imagine it happened to them or a friend.
At the end of each video, you’ll find playful activities followed by curious questions to spark family connection and chats about gaming. For each activity and question, it’s a good idea to give your child some time to get creative and find their own words.
All builds and questions are open-ended to give your child the freedom to be creative. There are no right or wrong answers or ways to build. We encourage you to let your child take the lead, be curious about what they’re saying, and try to keep instructions to a minimum.
