  A great theme marketed towards children

  The Vidiyo theme is a lovely new theme. Being an AFOL I completely understand that I am not the intended market but as collector I can honestly say I love the characters. They are great additions to any collection. The blind boxes are not a great idea though as they make it hard for people to find the minifigs they want. The app is ok, I played around with it just to see what it was like and I can honestly say a child would love it but it wasn’t for me, but I’m ok with that. The price of the vidiyo sets let’s the theme down a little though as there is not a lot of parts for the price compared to other themes.

  I don't have the Vidiyo App and I have no intention of getting it because it just doesn't appeal to me. However, from a minifigure point of view these looked really interesting to me - and I am NOT a minifigure afficionado or even really a collector of them. The problem I have with minifigures in blind packaging is that I can never tell what is in them (and that is when they were in plastic bags) so there was no chance with the new boxed versions. Luckily I came across a brand new box of 24 pieces in my local supermarket and took a risk on getting one whole side of the box. I got 12 out of 12 figures on my first pass which I will call a result. The figures in the range are: Werewolf Drummer Red Panda Dancer Discowboy Singer DJ Cheetah Samurapper Shark Singer Banshee Singer Cotton Candy Cheerleader Genius Dancer Alien Keytarist Bunny Dancer Ice Cream Saxophonist All have front and back torso prints and are well themed. As someone who doesn't really go in for the minifigures I particularly like the distinctive custom mould heads on several of the figures. Looking forward to setting a display up for these.

  disappointing

  grib

  I have a couple of bandmates already and some minifigs aren't bad, like the ice cream guy and the orange alien, but having them in boxes as opposed to bags is a horrible idea. The app doesn't download on 2 android phones an tablet we tried, only in an iPhone, but it drained the battery and warmed the phone and didn't even work that well. I get what Lego was trying to do with this innovative play feature, but the execution is very poor and doesn't convey the quality Lego should stand by. Because of this awful app that many devices aren't even compatible with, and the minifigs is boxes, I only give 1 star.

  Blind boxes are a no no

  If the plan is to introduce blind boxes for future minifigure sets then I'm finished with them. Nice looking figures but with numerous to collect they are too expensive to receive multiple swaps. This also allows sellers to bump up costs on the after sales market. If I spent this much money on another product, I would at least get to see what I was buying. Children don't like getting swaps, and like to complete collections, so this is an overall bad idea.
