It took my husband (son's father) and my son about 3-4 hours to build this toy from the first step to the last step. They said it was difficult to build even though they had and followed the directions very well. There is a lot of pieces to this truck, which made it difficult to build it. After the truck was built, my son has had so much fun playing with it. He loves the pull-back feature of the truck because he pulls it back and let's it go and it goes by itself for a good amount of time. The colors and features of the truck are very fun and cool. It comes with stickers that both my son and husband put on the truck. Besides it taking a few hours to build it as the only downfall, everything else is a positive with the truck. This monster truck rebuilds into a pull-back quad bike. I agree that this 2 in 1 toy makes playtime last longer. It's easy for kids, ideally, 7 and up to use and pull back. I give it five stars! I love companies that make 2 in 1 toys!! The Monster Jam Max-D Technic offers multiple playing experiences. Not a bad price, if you're on a budget. The truck was pretty challenging getting put together but doing it as a family was amazing also!
