How to install and update the LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime app and hub operating system

Installing the LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime App

The app will be available from your device’s app store:

    • Mac – Apple App Store
    • iPad – Apple App Store
    • Windows 10 – Windows Store
    • Android Tablet – Google Play Store
    • Chromebook – Google Play Store

    Finding the app version

Sometimes it’s important to know the version of the app you’re using. When you open the app, you can see the version in the title bar at the top. You can also find it under the About section.

    Updating the app

It’s easy to update the app. Most devices will update the app automatically and you can also check your app store if an update is available to install.

Updating the hub operating system (firmware update)

When you connect your hub with the app and a Hub OS update is available, you’ll get a pop up in the top right corner of the app letting you know about it. This is also known as a “firmware update” as it updates the systems inside the hub, not the app itself.

Click “UPDATE” to start the firmware update. You can watch the progress by the “START PROGRAM” button.

Updating the hub’s operating system won’t delete any of your saved projects.

Resetting the hub to factory settings

You can reset the hub to factory settings in the app. Connect your hub, either by USB or Bluetooth, and click on the connected hub icon at the top of your programming canvas.

Click on the three dots on the right hand side of the screen and select Reset Settings. You’ll see a progress bar and after a few moments your hub will turn off and back on with factory settings.
