This set is really fun! It’s great to finally see a suit made specially for Luigi! (Still waiting for fire, cat, builder, and propeller Luigi suits…) The hose can have the vacuum head or the flashlight on it, as they are interchangeable. Hold the button to activate the Poltergust and suck up ghosts. You can even find hidden coins/gems on the ground. It will work on all biome colors (except for red and purple), as well as orange, teal, sky blue, and even the Guarded Fortress brown. You can find one coin, two coins, three coins, five coins, or a gem. Gems are kind of rare, as you can only find one about every five tries or so, but when you do, they are worth about 7 coins. They can be red, yellow, brown, or purple. The “gold ghost” has five lives and will give you five coins when defeated. (Just make sure you activate the vacuum first!) Regular boos and the peepa have four lives and will give you six coins. Not entirely sure about the life/coin ratio consistency there, but whatever. The start platform is identical to the other ones in the other mansion sets. It gives you 90 seconds, and plays the Luigi’s Mansion theme. This “pipe” will work on any other Mario set, and will also work in teamwork mode and the play challenges. Professor E. Gadd is another “meet n greet”, like Toad or Yoshi. Unlike them, though, he has his own unique sounds from the game. He will give you one, three, or five coins. I also noticed that when you capture a ghost before you talk to him, you will hear the “pop” sound you hear when vacuuming a ghost. However many ghosts you captured is how many pops it will make. I think this is supposed to mimic the game when you deposit the ghosts into the machine at the lab. Each ghost you give him is worth 3 coins. and there was a slight consistency problem at first, but after awhile it worked fine. (This feature is not shown in the demos) Pros: great fun, nostalgic, new music, iconic characters, fun features from the game, no stickers, and finally a suit for Luigi! Cons: 1: a bit pricey, as the suit alone is ten dollars. But all the extra stuff is not worth the other twenty. I think this set is worth about twenty dollars total, twenty five tops. But thirty? A bit much. 2: E. Gadd’s glasses are a bit high on his head, and they even stick out above his head a little, which looks kind of weird. 3: You can’t turn Luigi off when he is wearing the Poltergust. 4: The flashlight attachment doesn’t look right. I made a custom design and it looks a little better (see pictures). 5: The theme music is a little sharp. 6: When you use the vacuum, the music stops. 7: Sometimes when I am vacuuming a ghost, lock icon will appear on Luigi’s chest, and he will be unable to do anything except whimper fearfully and call for Mario as well as make chain clanking noises when he walks around. I can’t figure out how to get him out of this besides turn him off and back on. A little help LEGO? Over all, a little pricy, but still a great set! I definitely recommend this!Play Experience5.0Building Experience4.0Value for Money3.0Was this helpful?

The poltergust does not work at all, supposedly when you press the button it “sucks up” enemies but the button does absolutely nothing, can’t kill enemies when pressing button, also when I took the poltergeist off of Mario, one of the pins looked like it broke. Was very glad to finally get it but now I am sad because this crappy vacuum broke my lego Mario25 February 2022Jane, LEGO® Customer ServiceOh no! We'll be happy to help get Mario back on track. We have several of these Lego Mario/ Luigi sets. My son absolutely LOVES these sets. This one is especially neat because it comes with Luigi's suit that has the vacuum attached. You put the suit on Luigi and then he is ready to catch the ghosts using the vacuum. In the other sets you would have Mario jump on the bad guys. This set is different, you have to push the button on the front of his suit to catch the ghosts. I love the music that this set plays when Luigi is over a certain sensor. These sets are so much fun to build because of the app that helps you build them. It shows you step by step where each piece goes. I wish all the lego sets had an app like that! My son is extremely happy with this set!Play Experience5.0Building Experience5.0Value for Money5.0Was this helpful?
