Meteor Attack Mission

Meteor Attack Mission

Age: 9+

Time: 30 minutes

This mission flies straight to us from the distant world of Mars, courtesy of our new LEGO® Education sets!

As in each of these LEGO Education sets, there are several missions for science-loving kids to conquer, using the Build, Solve, Invent play loop.

This one, for example, features a pizza-loving astrophysicist who needs to protect his Martian science experiments from an avalanche of flying space debris!

Need a refresher on the Build, Solve, Invent play loop? Well, luckily, Danibob is here to help show you…

Step 1: Build

As well as building your Mars-dwelling minifigure (and his pizza…), in this phase, you’ll use the building instructions to create the laboratory and the solar panels that power it.

Not to mention the meteors and a seriously cool catapult to launch the space debris at all that beautiful, expensive-looking tech…!

Step 2: Solve

Okay, so we’ve built the catapult, the meteors and the space tech they’re threatening to smash into smithereens. Now we need to find a way to protect it all!

In the Solve stage of the play loop, we give you the pieces. But it’s up to YOU to use your imagination and try out some different solutions. There are loads of ways to solve it!

If you need a little bit of inspiration, check out what Danibob came up with…

Step 3: Invent

You may have solved the problem, but the mission doesn’t end there! In fact, it’s only just beginning…

Now that your space lab is protected from those pesky flying rocks, you can get into the real detail.

You’ll find a few thought-starters for future experiments in the building instructions. But what new science experiments will you build? What else can your minifigure scientist get up to on the Red Planet?

We give you the bricks, you give us the inventions!
