Average rating1out of 5 stars1.0Bring back the winter holiday advent theme!
Purchased for: Self
I've been getting the City winter holiday advent calendar for 4 years now, and this is the first year where I'm incredibly disappointed. I didn't know LEGO was going to switch the theme for the City advent calendar to be based on the kid's show instead of the winter holiday theme. I have no reference or enjoyment out of building this year's models and am really disappointed it included police, medical car, dynamite, and robbers. It might as well have had protestors and barricades added to round out the 2020 experience. If LEGO is going to continue making City-themed advent calendars, they should really make one strictly for winter holiday-themed since that's what I'm really looking for when opening an advent calendar.Play Experience1.0Value for Money1.0Was this helpful?

Average rating1out of 5 stars1.0No christmas feel
Purchased for: Self
Disappointed as this calender has no christmas feel at all, i count 4 out of 24 builds that has anything to do with christmas. It should have been 24 out of 24, or atleast 20. A cop, firefighter, a guy with dynamite, cars, boat, train (with loose carts), helicopter, mini-buildings is not what i expected in a christmas calender. This is a 2020 calender allright, like most of 2020 it's bad. Last years City calender was great in comparison.Play Experience1.0Value for Money1.0Was this helpful?

Average rating3out of 5 stars3.0Enjoyable but lacking Christmas feel
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love our LEGO advent calendars each year. My 5 year old enjoyed making the vehicles but particularly loved the Santa and Rudolph/sleigh. I do agree with the other reviews, was lacking Christmas feel and hope this returns next year. Would you consider a Summer Christmas theme- swimming in the pool, beach party, barbecue Christmas lunch, bucket of prawns, Santa in shorts and T-shirt, Mrs Claus in Summer dress, playing cricket in the backyard (with traditional Christmas things like Christmas tree, bon-bons, presents etc).. us Aussies would love it! :)Play Experience3.0Value for Money3.0Was this helpful?

The wife and I are big LEGO fans, especially when it comes to the Christmas sets. I remember seeing this and noticing how "un-Christmas-y" it looked. There is only one actual winter-themed minifigure and few Christmas-centric builds, with the vast majority being oversized toy vehicles (when compared with other Winter Village minifigure toys). This is a huge shame, as the daily and seasonal contents have the ability to be super fun! This one feels very very generic. The only reason we have this, is a coworker gave it to me as a gift.Play Experience1.0Value for Money1.0Was this helpful?
