If we asked you to picture a NASA spacecraft, there’s a good chance you’d picture the Space Shuttle Discovery. An iconic emblem of space exploration and a fan-favorite LEGO set, the NASA Space Shuttle Discovery set features authentic details, like retractable landing gear, opening cockpit, moving elevons, space arm, plus five seats for the crew. You can even open the payload bay and deploy the Hubble Telescope that includes its own great features, like movable solar panels and an aperture door.

As mindful as many of our sets are, there’s something especially mindful about this one, and while you build it you can imagine what it must have been like to be an astronaut staring out of the Discovery’s windows at the endless wonder of space.

LEGO® Galaxy Explorer

We never need an excuse to release great new sets, but since 2022 is the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary we thought we’d mark it with something special. We’re launching a new version of an iconic vintage set from the late 1970s that we know you’re going to love: the LEGO Galaxy Explorer.

This set will bring all those warm, fuzzy childhood memories rushing back. But this isn’t the same set you might remember; it has updated building techniques and elements, paired with the retro color scheme. It has opening canopies and a back section with a retractable ramp and scout vehicle, retractable landing gears and side engines that can be detached to become smaller spacecrafts.

The four classic-style minifigures and the helper robot can enjoy the ride in the detailed cockpit, plus there are sleeping quarters, computers and storage compartments. The only question is, where will you take it? We hear Jupiter is nice this time of year.

LEGO® Creator Expert – NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander

One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. That famous phrase pretty much sums up the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander, the incredible craft that descended American astronauts onto the surface of the moon and got them back off it when the mission was complete.

This set was developed in cooperation with NASA to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Lunar Landing. It features a detailed replica of the Apollo 11 Eagle lunar module, and a depiction of the lunar surface, complete with crater, footprints and a U.S. flag. It also comes complete with two astronaut minifigures with NASA decorations and golden helmets, as well as the ladder, so you can recreate the famous first step for yourself.

NASA Insignia and identifiers provided and used with permission of NASA.

This product is developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) for the purpose of fostering children’s interest in space science. ESA is not involved in the manufacturing and commercialisation of this product.!
