**Cologne, Germany, August 21, 2024:** Today at gamescom, the LEGO Group revealed six never-before-seen LEGO® Super Mario™: Mario Kart™ sets, bringing Nintendo’s iconic Mario Kart franchise to the world of LEGO bricks for the very first time.  

The addition of Mario Kart adds an entirely new dimension to the LEGO Super Mario experience, in which digital and physical play collide in the most spectacular fashion together. What’s more, the new sets feature some of Super Mario’s best-known characters, including Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Toad, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi and Baby Peach. 
 
The LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart sets were originally teased as part of the LEGO Group’s MAR10 Day celebration in March, and today’s reveal provides Mario Kart fans and LEGO builders their first full look at the new, highly anticipated products, launching January 1, 2025. Each set is designed to ensure that the LEGO brick version offers a fun way to experience the Mario Kart universe.  

With vibrant characters, customisable karts and unique track items that will pave the way for endless play, these sets will get fans’ creative engines revving as they can turn unexpected surfaces into the ultimate Mario Kart track.  

To add a layer of digital play, fans can also add a LEGO® Mario™, LEGO® Luigi™ or LEGO® Peach™ (figures not included) to the new Mario Kart sets which takes the interactive experience into high gear when putting one of the figures into the driver’s seat. This includes iconic Mario Kart audio and visual effects for race-starting, horn-honking, kart-drifting and gliding sounds from the game. Players can also use these characters to scan Item Boxes, allowing them to collect extra coins and help boost their score as they finish the race!

**LEGO® Super Mario™: Mario Kart™ – Yoshi Bike** (72031) is the perfect build for fans who enjoy drifting between traffic cones or launching shells. Builders ages 7 and up can look forward to a Light-Blue Yoshi toy figure, a shell item, and a brick-built bike in this 133-piece play set. 

**LEGO® Super Mario™: Mario Kart™ – Standard Kart** (72032) is for all the original players, ready to race and drive the classic Standard Kart. The 174-piece set for ages 7+ includes a buildable model of the standard edition Mario Kart, a workstation, a Toad toy figure in his red pit crew uniform, plus a detachable Super Glider! 

**LEGO® Super Mario™: Mario Kart™ – Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo** (72033) is a set that features one of Donkey Kong’s signature karts – the DK Jumbo. Launch items such as shells and a banana on the course to slow down other players! The 387-piece set is for fans aged 8+. 

**LEGO® Super Mario™: Mario Kart™ – Baby Mario vs. Baby Luigi** (72034) is for ages 8 and up. The set features Baby Mario in his Biddybuggy and Baby Luigi in his Tri-Speeder, ready to launch shells for a Balloon Battle. There are 6 buildable balloons in this 321-piece set.   

**LEGO® Super Mario™: Mario Kart™ – Toad’s Garage** (72035) includes two Blue Toads (Pit Crew), ready to tune up karts in his garage. **San Diego, July 25th, 2024:** To mark the first day of San Diego Comic-Con 2024, the LEGO Group announced the fifth addition to their LEGO® Super Mario™ range for Adults by welcoming the beloved and fan-favorite character, Yoshi, in homage to his earliest appearance, carrying Mario into adventure. 

This is the first-time fans will see Mario's trusted companion, Yoshi, in 2D LEGO brick form. **The LEGO® Super Mario™ Super Mario World™: Mario & Yoshi (71438)** set pays homage to Nintendo’s classic video game, Super Mario World™, and is built in multiple layers to enable eye-catching animation effects. The nostalgic visuals from the earlier generation of the Super Mario™ games are also reflected in the new set, featuring pixelated Mario and Yoshi figures. 

**Carl Merriam, a Senior Designer on LEGO Super Mario** explained: *“In this model, we wanted to capture the original sprite animation from Super Mario World. This meant re-creating the pixel art in LEGO bricks and then adding a mechanism to make Yoshi run with Caped Mario riding on his back. AND if that wasn’t enough fun, we also added a dial to make Yoshi’s tongue pop in and out - just like in the game!”*  

When builders are done building, this set also stands as a beautiful display piece. The model, amongst others such as The Mighty Bowser and Piranha Plant from the LEGO Super Mario line, is also part of the ‘Adults Welcome’ series. This range is designed to bring fond memories to all LEGO fans who remember Super Mario as an essential part of their childhood.

**Billund, March 11, 2024:** Over the weekend, the LEGO Group celebrated MAR10 Day (March 10th) by unveiling three incredible new LEGO® Super Mario™ sets – The Bowser Express Train, King Boo’s Haunted Mansion and Battle with Roy at Peach's Castle – and confirmed that the globally-loved Mario Kart™ will be coming in LEGO brick form next year!  
 
Every year on March 10, fans from all around the world mark MAR10 Day by celebrating their favourite Super Mario characters. This is the second year that the LEGO Group has held an action-packed YouTube premiere for MAR10 Day. Jack Gardner hosted the celebrations and was joined by a playful family of LEGO Super Mario fans, who helped add some extra mischief and fun.  

**New Iconic Builds Announced**  
Fans were delighted to see that not one, not two, but THREE new products were added to the LEGO® Super Mario™ universe, each specially selected to allow builders to expand their play adventures and join in on the endless fun.

The first set revealed was **The Bowser Express Train** made of 1,392 LEGO elements, created by Marvin Völger, concept designer, Daire McCabe as the model designer, and Amy Bennett, interaction designer on LEGO Super Mario. This set invites thrill seekers to jump aboard the locomotive for fun adrenaline-filled play. Packed with interactive features, including a lever-operated spinning platform, Super Star Block, passenger wagon with removable roof and “?” Block, and even a cannon wagon with a spring-loaded cannon, there’s plenty of play options and secrets for builders to enjoy.  

**Daire McCabe, Design Master on LEGO Super Mario** said: *“A lot of work went into designing The Bowser Express Train and ensuring it truly captures Bowser’s mighty presence and power. We wanted to create this epic set, inspired by the iconic train level in Super Mario 3D World, where Mario shoots out of a cannon to take on all the enemies on the train – capturing the spirit, energy and adrenaline of the original game. I can’t wait to see everyone’s reactions!”*

Next up was **King Boo’s Haunted Mansion** with 932 LEGO bricks. In the YouTube premiere, the family were left in a pitch-black room and found LEGO® Luigi™ and a Yellow Baby Yoshi, then showed off their skills by defeating a Dry Bones. Throughout the segment, the set’s play-packed features were explored including the haunted halls, which featured a Chest Block, Coin Block and hidden Key Block for interactive play. The Haunted Mansion allows builders to use their spooky imaginations and go on a mysterious adventure packed with elevating furniture, well-known enemy characters, and more.  

Last, but certainly not least, was the **Battle with Roy at Peach's Castle** made of 738 LEGO elements in total. This set is a reimagined classic, which welcomes builders to defend the castle with Toad against Roy, one of the Koopalings. The castle features a catapult, easy-to-rebuild walls and boasts a beautiful interior, including a rotating throne, a piano, and fountain in the garden.

**Billund - September 21st, 2023:** Today, the LEGO Group revealed the brick-built Piranha Plant, the latest addition to the expanding LEGO® Super Mario™ theme for Adults, in partnership with Nintendo. The new building set is a fun re-creation of the iconic plant from Super Mario™ video games.  

Built from over 500 pieces, the LEGO® Super Mario™ Piranha Plant is a detailed and posable set. It allows LEGO and Super Mario fans alike to move the head, mouth, stalk and leaves to create new and exciting poses. In addition, the building experience of the set allows you to create from the bottom up, so the Piranha Plant emerges as if it’s growing out of the pipe.

**Billund, April 28, 2023:** The LEGO Group has today announced that the LEGO® Super Mario™ franchise is expanding to introduce the Nintendo® gaming icon, Donkey Kong, along with Cranky Kong, Diddy Kong, Funky Kong and Dixie Kong, for the first time ever in LEGO brick form. 

The four new products include Donkey Kong’s Tree House Expansion Set, Diddy Kong’s Mine Cart Ride Expansion Set, Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam Expansion Set and Rambi the Rhino Expansion Set. 

The LEGO® Super Mario™ Donkey Kong™ Expansion Sets offer fans a new Donkey Kong inspired world to explore and new adventures to take on. It allows children and adults alike to use their imagination to fully immerse themselves in Donkey Kong’s jungle by providing exciting ways to play. The new Donkey Kong Expansion Sets and characters can also interact with LEGO® Mario™, LEGO® Luigi™ and LEGO® Peach™.

**Donkey Kong’s Tree House Expansion Set** 
Children aged 8+ can use LEGO® Mario™, LEGO® Luigi™ or LEGO® Peach™ figures to jump onto Donkey Kong’s back and explore this colourful tree house. You’ll find a buildable TV and radio, option to play the conga drums, or even visit Cranky Kong to earn some digital coins. Look closely and you may discover a secret compartment! If you get tired after all the exploration, there’s a comfy hammock for Donkey Kong to have a nap in. 

**Diddy Kong's Mine Cart Ride Expansion Set** 
This incredible 1,157 piece set features one of Donkey Kong’s most iconic locations and challenges. Place a LEGO Super Mario figure in the mine cart to ride around the track. Flip the Snaggles out of the way, fix the broken section of track, defeat the Mole Miner and ‘explode’ the rock to reveal a bunch of bananas.
