The LEGO Group has internal design rules for connecting LEGO pieces together for stability and to avoid unnecessary stress. These are sometimes call ‘illegal’ building techniques. You’re able to design using ‘illegal’ techniques in BrickLink Studio if the ‘Snap’ setting is turned off.
