How to use the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime test program
LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime has a default program that is preloaded onto the hub that allows you to play around with the basic functions of the motors and sensors.
- When you turn on the hub, a heart will appear on the light grid.
- To activate the test program, tap on the green center button.
- Since all the ports on the hub are in/out, you can plug in motors or sensors on either side. Make sure that you have a motor on one side and a sensor on the opposite side.
- The light grid will light up to indicate that you plugged your component in.
Using the test program, you can test the large and medium motors with any of the three sensors in the following ways:
Colour Sensor – Using the eight different SPIKE Prime coloured bricks, the sensor will spin the connected motor at a speed that corresponds to the colour.
Distance Sensor – Place an object in front of the distance sensor to spin the connected motor. The closer the object, the faster the motor spins.
Force Sensor – To activate the connected motor, push the force sensor in. The more pressure you put on the sensor, the faster the motor spins.
