- March 3rd, 2020Average rating4out of 5 stars4.0Amazing, Complex build, App works well.I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfI bought this set because it is different from my other sets, which just sit on my shelf, getting gusty, only to be built, and rarely played with. Now, this has the fun of building it, but more after your done, rewarding you with access, almost like motivation, the app, which allows you to control it. The app works well, and there are different control setups, so you can choose the one you prefer. Only 6 batteries and you can pop some new ones in when they die. The app even has a calibration system, shown as "The Workshop", which calibrates the steering if your vehicle is out of sync. My only real disappointment is that TECHNIC missed out on a great opportunity to make this set the first TECHNIC set to include a Minifigure, which could have been the STIG racer from the show. It would've made this set exclusive, and higher in demand. All in all though, It's a great set.Play Experience5.0Level of Difficulty3.0Value for Money4.0Build Time: 5 hrsBuilding Experience: Advanced LEGO builderWas this helpful?45App-Controlled Top Gear Rally Car
- February 8th, 2020Average rating5out of 5 stars5.0Fun build, fun to play withWilS |I would recommend this to a friend!Purchased for: SelfIt's kind of rare for me to play with any set after it's built. I generally admire it for a while, take it apart (space concerns), and come back to it later to start over. This was a lot of fun to actually play with after it was complete. One question... Is mine the only one that pulls to the right? Even after re-calibrating the steering, it routinely pulls. Thinking it has something to do with the differential (?) at the rear axle...10 February 2020Emily, Customer ServiceMuch like a real car...sounds like something might be a little off in the alignment. We'd recommend double-checking your build to make sure everything's in the right spot and that gears have enough room to turn. (Especially make sure the space around the gears is even on each side!) - January 20th, 2021Average rating2out of 5 stars2.0Not worth the moneyPurchased for: SonI assume that LEGO had to pay a premium to use the Top Gear branding (hence the price) which encouraged me to buy it; but in fact this connection added no value or added interest to the actual product!! There weren't many pieces when the box was opened, and my kids were pretty underwhelmed by the control App. The worst thing about the controls was that when they blipped out, (repeatedly) the app made you go through the whole set-up procedure from the start. Oh, and it consumed batteries! It was played with on Christmas Day and has not appeared since :-(Play Experience2.0Value for Money3.0Build Time: 3 hrsBuilding Experience: Advanced LEGO builderWas this helpful?25App-Controlled Top Gear Rally Car
- September 16th, 2021Average rating3out of 5 stars3.0Does not work with Lego remote, requires a phonefchixon |This looks like and is a cool model and works well with a phone. It does not work or pair with the lego Bluetooth remote. My kids do not have phones yet so there is no way to play with this in that case. I bought the Bluetooth remote thinking it would work, but it will not pair. It pairs with other PoweredUp move hubs but not the ones in this remote control car series. It is frustrating, since these cars are cool, but requiring a phone to drive when you sell a perfectly good remote control is annoying. They are both Bluetooth so it should just work.Play Experience1.0Value for Money2.0Was this helpful?35App-Controlled Top Gear Rally Car
