Update your LEGO® SMART Bricks to unlock more play!
New LEGO® Pokémon™ sets, powered by the SMART Play™ system, are coming on August 1!
They bring a whole new range of play features and allow you to become a LEGO Pokémon Trainer.
What’s even more exciting is that if you already own some SMART Bricks, they can be used with these new sets to unlock a whole new dimension of play! All you need to do is to make sure that your SMART Bricks are updated!
Latest Release Notes
All LEGO® SMART Bricks included in new, unopened LEGO® Pokémon™ All-In-One sets will work straight out of the box and won’t need any update.
However, if you own LEGO SMART Bricks from earlier All-In-One sets, a quick update is required before you can become a LEGO Pokémon Trainer.
Updates are fast and completed using the LEGO SMART Assist app, which guides you through the process step by step. We recommend to regularly check that you have the latest updates installed.
Now let’s dive into what’s new with the update!
New Features
- Battle Mode: Shake two nearby LEGO Pokémon and trigger an awesome battle mode!
- LEGO® Pokémon™ chat: Bring two LEGO Pokémon close to each other and wait for them to start communicating.
- Train them up: Your LEGO Pokémon will grow in power as you train them!
- New actions: Flying, hovering, dashing, hiding, swimming and more have been added to the SMART Play™ range of actions!
- New reactions: Discover awesome reactions through the SMART Brick when you tickle your LEGO Pokémon – or ride them on the buggy!
- New traits: Several new traits have been added to the SMART Play range of actions, such as LEGO Pokémon types, resistance, health rank and power rank.
- New items: Specific tags now trigger healing and eating
General Improvements
- Tag reading: We’ve improved the way SMART Bricks read SMART Tags and SMART Minifigures, resulting in lower latency.
- Improved Play Engine: We’ve made the play engine more stable to reduce the risk of SMART Brick crashes and resets.
Bug Fixes
- Color Scanner: The SMART Brick’s Color Scanner could previously get stuck on one color. This issue has now been fixed (hooray!)
