INVENTOR is the more advanced programming area of ROBOLAB, yet it carries similar basic programming skills as PILOT programming. Similar to PILOT, INVENTOR programs require the green traffic to begin and a red traffic light at the end. Command icons are then wired between the two traffic lights and downloaded to the RCX.
Step 1:
INVENTOR icons are available from the Functions palette. To write a program, pick an icon from the Functions palette and place it in the Diagram window.
Step 2:
Once you have placed all of the icons in the Diagram window, they must be arranged in sequence. Use the Select tool, to move the commands.
Step 3:
String the icons together in the order that they should run.
Step 4:
Once the program is complete, it can be downloaded to the RCX. As in PILOT, click the Run Arrow to initiate the download. If the Run Arrow appears broken, that means part of your program is missing a wire or modifier. To get information about what needs to be fixed, click the broken Run Arrow.

ROBOLAB Help
Get help on any (and all) of the icons in ROBOLAB by selecting Show Context Help from the Help Menu in the Diagram Window. Then move the cursor over an icon to display the information in the Help window.
Inventor Levels
Each INVENTOR Level (1-4) had progressively new RCX commands available in the Functions palette.
