The IPR Entertainment Licensing & Merlin (IPRELM) team is part of the global LEGO Group Legal Compliance & Risk Management team (LCR)!

We are looking to hire an experienced lawyer with strong skills to help us advice and guide Product Marketing Development (PMD) teams in the LEGO Group in regards to good IPR governance and development of new LEGO® products, materials and IP Partnerships!

Core Responsibilities

This lawyer will, in collaboration with other Senior Corporate Counsels, be responsible for:

  • drafting/reviewing and negotiating contracts of relevance to product and marketing development within the LEGO Group.

  • promoting the stewardship and compliance agenda as relevant to PMD organization.

  • building strong and effective working relationships and networks with key internal partners as well as with externals, including IP partners.

This is a new role in the IPRELM team and will be specifically focused on providing IPR, contractual and other legal support to the PMD area.

Do you have what it takes?

Law school/university degree at Master level or equivalent education. Qualification as an Attorney-At-Law (bar exam) is not a requirement.

  • Minimum 5-7 years of post-graduate international legal experience from inhouse or private practice within the general commercial legal work field.

  • Specialization within, and proven experience working with all types of legal issues related to IPR and licensing of IPR.

  • Extensive experience advising on, and drafting/reviewing complex commercial contracts relating to IPR matters and other commercial issues.

  • Good commercial understanding, eye for business and a proven track record in negotiations.
