Job Description
Exciting opportunity to help shape the future of LEGO® BrickLink!
We’re looking for a Lead Engineer with a delivery mindset and the ability to navigate complex matters. You’ll guide a cross-functional team working on mission-critical services that integrate BrickLink into the LEGO Group’s digital ecosystem and elevate the experience for fans worldwide.
You’ll lead a local team with nearshore members and collaborate closely with Product and Design, and partner with teams in Billund and the US to align on strategy, architecture, and execution.
Core responsibilities
- Lead the team and set a technical direction for integrating BrickLink with the LEGO® digital ecosystem, including LEGO® Account, to ensure a coherent user experience.
- Architect, build, operate, and maintain scalable, secure solutions - applying a “you build it, you run it” philosophy.
- Build and evolve services that enable BrickLink’s online presence, including administration, compliance, and security-related services.
- Drive a modern, low-maintenance architecture and infrastructure that enables faster delivery and frequent, reliable releases.
- Understand the existing BrickLink codebase to make targeted changes and execute a smooth, incremental migration to new services.
- Champion quality, observability, and operational excellence; continuously improve code and system health from dev to live.
- Mentor engineers, set coding standards, facilitate agile rituals, and remove blockers to keep delivery on track.
- Partner closely with Product Managers and Designers; shape backlogs and delivery plans in Jira.

- Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, data modelling, and transaction handling.
- Proven experience working closely with Product and using Jira workflows (backlogs, epics, boards, reporting) to drive delivery.
- Experience with automated testing (unit/integration/E2E) and building CI/CD pipelines (build, test, deploy, release automation).
- Strong delivery mindset and the ability to navigate complex and ambiguous problems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable aligning stakeholders across time zones (Billund and California).
