Job Description

We are looking for an inspiring Digital Product Design leader with a fresh, innovative and creative approach, to help us find new ways to connect with our employees and to help energise everybody every day!

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team of digital product designers (Service Designers, Product Designers, UX Researchers),and managers to inspire them to develop their skills and become ever more effective and impactful in their product teams

  • Ensure the structure, capacity and alignment of your team into product teams across Corporate Products Technology to maximise their impact, in consultation with Engineering Directors and Product Leaders

  • Work across the design community in different organisational contexts to refine our ways of working and ensure user centricity is always considered in our strategy and actions, optimizing for product team autonomy and flow

  • Remain active as a digital product designer in a product team to ensure your own experience of our ways of working is based on firsthand facts

  • Collaborate closely with the product managers and engineering teams to produce the best possible solutions that balance technical feasibility, research, testing and feedback to deliver great experiences for the end users and the business

  • Actively facilitate and enable opportunities to collaborate with designers across the organization through inspiration sharing, workshops and developing the digital product design network within LEGO

  • Overseeing the end-end design process and experience across product teams

This role owns the design function for Corporate Products Technology, which contains product teams supporting HR, Finance, Procurement, Communications, Workplace Solutions, Facilities and Service Management. In addition, there are supporting teams including agile coaching, technical project management and design. This role heads the design team.

The capabilities built by the design team will be instrumental in improving employee experiences.

The organisation consists of about 20 product teams. There are about 10 design-based roles across this org that will report directly into this leader.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Experience leading and mentoring a diverse and broad team of designers spanning multiple design areas of expertise (UX, UI, Research, Service Design)

  • Experience of designing and implementing large scale, complex and varied, digital products (including SaaS solutions) and managing a team to work optimally in a matrix structure

  • Experience representing digital product design at a strategic leadership level

  • You can navigate ambiguity, context switching and has the ability to bring structure in complex environments

  • You are a great communicator who can influence, drive engagement, and build effective relationships across a complex landscape of business partners

  • A strong team leader you bring effective leadership and supportive coaching to your team, maintaining a continuous learning environment, setting clear objectives and proactively encouraging personal and professional development

Advanced English both written and verbal would be ideal as we are an internationally gathered team.
