Core Responsibilities

  • Compliance with Danish Fire Safety Regulations: Ensuring that the facility meets all the fire regulations set by the Danish authorities. This involves understanding and implementing the Danish Building Regulations, which outline specific fire safety requirements for different types of buildings and industrial facilities.
  • Fire Risk Assessment and Management: Conducting thorough fire risk assessments specific to the industrial facility, identifying potential hazards, and developing risk management strategies. This will involve evaluating the layout of the facility, the presence of flammable materials, electrical systems, and other factors that may contribute to fire hazards.
  • Fire Safety Systems and Equipment: Supervising the installation, maintenance, and testing of fire detection and suppression systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and fire extinguishers. Inspections are regularly done by a IFM partner but will need the fire specialist to do random check.
  • Inspections and Reporting: Conducting regular inspections of the facility to identify any fire safety deficiencies and take corrective actions. Keeping detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, and any incidents that occur within the facility.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with team members, advise the project team, Risk management and Insurance, and local authorities to ensure effective communication and cooperation regarding fire safety measures. This includes working with fire departments, building inspectors, and other relevant entities to maintain compliance and address any concerns or recommendations.

As end user of utility facilities, provide support to facility production / expansion projects from operation perspective.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience in building, industrial or mechanical areas is an advantage
  • Certification as a Firefighter, Fire Inspector, or Fire Officer from a recognized fire service organization is highly beneficial
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of local, regional, and national fire safety codes, regulations, and standards. Codes and standards in Denmark, FM Global and NFPA
  • Familiarity with various types of fire suppression systems such as fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and their installation, maintenance, and accurate use.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to provide training, conduct inspections, and interact with employees and authorities. The ability to explain fire safety measures clearly and concisely.
  • Critical thinking skills to assess fire hazards, determine solutions, and make recommendations for improvements. The ability to tackle issues related to fire safety equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in fire prevention techniques, fire safety procedures, and risk assessments. Ability to identify and evaluate fire hazards, implement fire prevention measures, and conduct detailed fire safety audits.
  • Proven experience in the development of processes and procedures, as well as in fire protection systems operation and compliance.
  • Fluency in Danish and English, both written and verbally
